Petitions have been submitted in Washington for a ballot measure to attempt to overturn a domestic partnership law passed by the state legislature.

Petitions were circulated in a short amount of time by signature gatherers who were often harassed. Larry Stickney, who heads Protect Marriage Washington, explains the next step in the process involves waiting.

"We turned in 138,000 petitions, and we needed 120,577 valid signatures," says the marriage advocate. "So the Secretary of State here in Washington is in the process of counting and validating those signatures. It could take up to a couple of weeks here"...
