Gibbs: No truth to rumors of Biden-Clinton swap
The suggestion that President Obama is considering seeking re-election with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as his running mate instead of Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. in 2012 is "absolutely not true," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Wednesday.
"It's not anything that's being discussed here," Mr. Gibbs told reporters during an off-camera briefing.
Mr. Gibbs' rejection of the idea comes one day after Washington Post associate editor Bob Woodward said on CNN that a proposal for Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Biden to switch jobs is "on the table." Both Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Biden vied with Mr. Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008...
