Club For Growth Wants to Help Specter
The Federal Election Commission cleared the way today for the Club for Growth to help Sen. Arlen Specter make good on his promise to refund campaign contributions on request from disgruntled Republicans.
But the new Pennsylvania Democrat, who left the GOP in April, may not want the kind of help the conservative group is proposing.
The 4-2 FEC decision would allow the organization to contact GOP donors who gave to Specter before he switched parties to see if they want a refund. Of course, the anti-tax Club for Growth, a is a long-time foe of Specter, and would like nothing more than to drain his campaign fund of as much money as possible...
