A former bus driver has sued his employer for allegedly discriminating against his religious beliefs and terminating his employment.

The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) represents Edwin Graning, a former driver for the Capital Area Rural Transportation System (CARTS), which is a nine-county transit service that often provides transportation in rural areas surrounding Austin, Texas. Senior attorney EdwardEdward White (ACLJ) White tells OneNewsNow the driver was dispatched in January to transport two women to a Planned Parenthood clinic.

"He called up his supervisor and said, 'You know, I'm an ordained minister...and Planned Parenthood does abortions. And I don't know if this lady's going there for an abortion. However, if she is, I want nothing to do with that,'" White accounts. "And so in effect, he was asking for his supervisor to just get one of the other CARTS drivers to pick up this woman"...

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Planned Parenthood used Independence Day as an occasion to press its agenda for the military: abortions at taxpayer-funded military base hospitals. In an action alert the abortion giant sent its members Planned Parenthood belittled the July 4th traditions to say they're not as important as abortions.

"This 4th of July, among the outdoor cookouts and fireworks displays, countless politicians and members of Congress will give speeches to honor the women and men serving in our nation's military. But speeches are one thing, and action is another," Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards wrote.

Members of Congress have received requested information from the General Accounting Office on how abortion organizations spend federal tax dollars.

Former Colorado Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave, who is now a spokesperson for the Susan B. Anthony List, takes a look at the pro-abortion groups.

"These individuals from these organizations say that they give choice to women," she remarks, "but when you look at these agencies that advocate for abortion or provide abortion, they received almost a billion dollars [in federal funds] from 2002 through 2009...."

The National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) has adopted a resolution to pursue "common ground" towards reducing abortion in the United States. But one longtime pro-life activist calls the plan "a dead-end road."

Engaging in what it calls "fresh national dialogue" to decrease abortions in America, the NAE resolution includes contraception as one of several possible means of achieving that goal. It also states that "some longtime opponents in the debate over the legality of abortion" have shown an interest participating in the dialogue.

OneNewsNow asked NAE's director of government affairs Galen Carey if that means working with groups like Planned Parenthood. He said it is too soon in the project to identify organizations that might be included...

The amendment, sponsored by pro-abortion Sen. Rolland Burris of Illinois, would have the military break with current longstanding policy.

Milwaukee, WI (LifeNews.com) -- A new undercover video taken of staff at a Planned Parenthood abortion business in Milwaukee, Wisconsin shows them pressuring a woman to have an abortion. The video also has staff members giving medically inaccurate abortion counseling and distorting basic facts of fetal development at the taxpayer-funded abortion center.

The video, the third to document problems at Planned Parenthood abortion centers in Wisconsin and one of several showing problems nationwide, was released today by Live Action.

It shows a young woman going to the abortion facility pretending to be a pregnant potential abortion customer. During the September 2009 counseling session with Planned Parenthood staff, the woman is pressured to get an abortion...

(CNSNews.com) – In a guide for young people published by the International Planned Parenthood Federation, the organization says it opposes laws that make it a crime for people not to tell sexual partners they have HIV. The IPPF's “Healthy, Happy and Hot” guide also tells young people who have the virus that they have a right to “fun, happy and sexually fulfilling lives.”

HIV is the virus that causes AIDS.

“Some countries have laws that say people living with HIV must tell their sexual partner(s) about their status before having sex, even if they use condoms or only engage in sexual activity with a low risk of giving HIV to someone else,” the guide states. “These laws violate the rights of people living with HIV by forcing them to disclose or face the possibility of criminal charges”...

The April 30 event is being billed as a “historic event” to celebrate the opening of the 78,000 square-foot facility and the 75th anniversary of the Texas Planned Parenthood operation. Tickets for the fundraiser range from $25,000 for a table of 10 to $350 for individual seating.

The event will also honor Melanie Gray and Mark Wawro: husband and wife, successful attorneys, and significant financial supporters of Planned Parenthood.
