GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney said Monday that Vice President Joseph Biden's comments tying passage of the White House jobs proposal to lowering the nation's rape and murder statistics were "strange."

"Vice President Biden has had a bit of a language-control problem over the years and this just adds to the list of very strange things he has said," the former Massachusetts governor, vying for front-runner status in the GOP race, said in an interview on The Washington Times-affiliated "America's Morning News" radio program.

Mr. Biden has "probably forgotten that the new stimulus plan the president has introduced has been turned down by the Democrats in the Senate. His own party has turned it down," Mr. Romney said. "Because they looked at the first stimulus and it did not work...

Republicans are stepping up their criticism of Vice President Biden for his claim that rapes and murders will climb if Congress does not approve proposed aid for police and first responders.

Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., said the vice president is using "fear tactics." Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., said Biden's remarks were "over the top."

And as the Senate Thursday night turned down a pared-back jobs bill to send $35 billion to the states for teachers and first responders, the Republican National Committee threw up a web video accusing Biden of using "scare tactics" to try to push it through. Texas governor Rick Perry has quickly vaulted to the top of the Republican presidential race and he now faces questions from pro-life advocates about what he would do as president. One news report says Perry has answered one question by saying he would name a pro-life Vice President.

A pro-life vice president is important for any presidential administration, as pro-abortion Vice President Joe Biden reconfirmed recently when he failed to condemn the forced abortions and other human rights abuses associated with the one-child policy in China.

Joblessness looms large in the 2012 race for the White House and with unemployment hovering above 9 percent, on September 6 former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is poised to release his plan to put Americans back to work just days before President Obama plans to unveil his latest jobs bill.

In a Keene, New Hampshire town hall meeting on Wednesday, Romney touted his business experience before a crowd of 200 people, saying it would help him create jobs if he's elected president.

"I think that if you want to create jobs it helps to have had a job, and I have," Romney said. "I want to make this the most attractive place in the world to grow a business"...

Top Republicans denounced Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. on Tuesday for saying during a visit to China that he “fully understand[s]” Beijing’s one-child policy, which has led to forced abortions and forced sterilizations.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney said in a statement that Mr. Biden’s words “should shock the conscience of every American.”

“Instead of condoning the policy, Vice President Biden should have condemned it in the strongest possible terms. DECORAH, Iowa – President Obama got into a heated back-and-forth Monday with a Tea Party activist who demanded to know at the end of a town hall meeting here whether Vice President Biden had called Tea Partiers “terrorists” during the debt ceiling debate on Capitol Hill.

In public, Obama did not directly answer the question from Iowa Tea Party activist Ryan Rhodes about Biden. But Obama fired back that he knows better than anyone what it’s like to be slammed for his political views and was not about to accept a lecture on the topic.

“Now, in fairness, since I’ve been called a socialist who wasn’t born in this country, who is destroying America and taking away its freedoms because I passed a health care bill, I’m all for lowering the rhetoric," Obama said...

A conservative black writer and commentator is outraged over the left's continued campaign of demonizing groups like the tea party by referring to them as "terrorists."

Ron Miller is the author of the book Sellout: Musings from Uncle Tom's Porch and president of Regular Folks United. In a recent column he called "Tea Party Terrorists," he reacted to the recent comment by Vice President Joe Biden who reportedly told a Democratic Congressional Caucus that the tea party-affiliated Republicans in Congress "have acted like terrorists."

"It's outrageous, but it's not inconsistent with where they have been going as of late," he tells OneNewsNow. "They must have some kind of a communications directive saying this is the talking point for the month about the tea party -- and then all of a sudden people start repeating it...

Vice President Biden was criticized Monday over reports of a private meeting he had with House Democrats in which Tea Party Republicans were compared to “terrorists," though Biden denies he described Republicans that way.

A senior Democratic official told Fox News that Biden made such comments in reaction to a heated conversation with liberal House members like Rep. Mike Doyle, D-Pa., who were venting that Republicans got too much out of the debt ceiling deal unveiled the night before and "acted like terrorists."

The comment drew an immediate rebuke from Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., one of the most outspoken Tea Party-aligned lawmakers in Congress...

Liberals and conservatives, on and off Capitol Hill, have sprung into action to urge lawmakers not to cede ground in the ongoing deficit talks, complicating the latest marathon push to strike a deal and raise the debt ceiling.

President Obama and Vice President Biden plan to meet Tuesday afternoon with lawmakers from both parties, following up on back-to-back meetings since Sunday. The talks so far have failed to yield a compromise ahead of what the administration claims is an Aug. 2 deadline to raise the $14.3 trillion debt ceiling.

Their respective bases aren't making things any easier....
