A conservative activist and former presidential candidate says the Democrats' decision to make Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) the new House minority leader in the upcoming Congress is like a gift to Republicans that keeps on giving.

North Carolina moderate Democrat Heath Shuler, whom Pelosi defeated for the position, believed the new minority leader's ultra left-wing agenda was the reason the party took such a drubbing in the midterm elections earlier this month. So he has mounted a challenge to the outgoing House speaker. A moderate Democrat from North Carolina says he will challenge pro-abortion outgoing Speaker Nancy Pelosi in her bid to remain the leader of the House Democrats.

Rep. Heath Shuler said on Sunday that he will run against Pelosi if she officially decides to run for the Minority Leader position leading Democrats after Republicans defeated them overwhelmingly for control of the House.
