A Roman Catholic priest in Canada is under investigation on charges of violating that nation's hate crimes law.
Lou Sheldon of the Traditional Values Coalition notes the Canadian Human Rights Commission is looking into it. "Canada has already passed several laws where clergymen have been affected negatively. And this particular case, I think, is very important because it involves a Roman Catholic priest in good standing doing what his church says," Sheldon explains.
The priest was teaching about homosexual "marriage" and homosexuality from a biblical perspective, and about Catholic doctrine in defense of the church's stance on marriage. "If there's a loss of that kind of religious liberties in Canada, then the church had better sit up and take notice," Sheldon contends.
