When President-elect Barack Obama’s plan for gay rights issues was posted on his
transition website last week, his team received a tempered response from those
who would be affected the most.

Gay rights advocates believe they have
an influential supporter in Obama, who won two large states — Florida and
California — where voters also approved anti-gay-marriage amendments...

Homosexual activists recently attacked a Michigan church during its worship service.

The attack occurred at Mount Hope Church in Lansing, Michigan, by a group of self-described homosexual anarchists called "Bash Back!" Susan Fani of the Catholic League describes what happened.

A conservative military watchdog says Barack Obama cannot unilaterally change the 1993 law that prohibits homosexuals from serving in the military.

Elaine Donnelly, president of the Center for Military Readiness, believes there will be push to repeal the law during the first 100 days of the new administration. Even before Barack Obama's victory, Donnelly predicted that if the White House switched to Democratic control, there would be an effort in the first few months of the new administration to repeal the law that was passed by overwhelming bipartisan support in a Democratic Congress. She contends there will be serious consequences if they are able to do it...

In the name of “tolerance,” People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)
wants a proposed Chicago public high school designed for homosexual and lesbian
students to offer a vegetarian-only menu.
 
“The school in Chicago is in a
very unique position in aligning its cafeteria with the social justice message
that they’re teaching in the classroom,” PETA Director of Media Relations
Michael McGraw told CNSNews.com...

One of the Christian pastors leading the effort to pass California's marriage protection amendment says Rick Warren's endorsement of Proposition 8 provides a big boost before Election Day.

The Purpose Driven Life author and pastor of Saddleback Church recently urged Californians to vote "yes" on Prop. 8 because for "5,000 years, every culture and every religion...not just Christianity...has defined marriage as a contract between men and women." Jim Garlow, the senior pastor of Skyline Wesleyan Church, located in the San Diego suburb of La Mesa, says he is thankful Warren stepped out in favor of Prop. 8...

The president of the Pacific Justice Institute says a large percentage of California
public school teachers are outraged over the California Teachers Association's
support for homosexual marriage. According to Pacific Justice Institute president Brad Dacus, the CTA has funneled more than $1.2 million into the fight against California's Proposition 8. That proposition, if passed on November 4, would define marriage as between one man and one woman and amend the state constitution accordingly.

California supporters of Proposition 8 are taking issue with Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E).

Proposition 8 is designed to overturn the state Supreme Court decision legalizing homosexual "marriage." Brad Dacus of Pacific Justice Institute tells OneNewsNow why many voters are upset with the utility.

"Pacific Gas & Electric shocked and stunned many of its customers and shareholders when it decided to give $250,000 dollars -- a quarter of a million dollars -- specifically to oppose Proposition 8, which is a pro-marriage amendment to recognize marriage between one man and one woman," he explains...

Pro-family groups in California are pointing to a recent first-grade field trip as an example of the importance of passing Proposition 8.

For the school-sponsored trip, 18 first-graders -- ages 5 and 6 -- were taken to San Francisco City Hall to witness the wedding of their teacher and her lesbian partner. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the school's principal said the field trip was "a teachable moment." (see related article with pictures in the Chronicle) In contrast, Frank Schubert, one of the managers for the ProtectMarriage.com campaign in the Golden State, describes the school-sponsored trip as indoctrination of young children. "I doubt the school has ever taken kids on a field trip to a traditional wedding," he quips...

Pro-family leader Matt Barber says the "radical San
Francisco-style social experimentation" promoted by Barack Obama and the
Democratic Party is not what is best for the country.

The Denver Post reports 358 openly homosexual delegates
are in Denver for the Democratic National Convention, the largest number ever to
take part in a major party national convention. A special DNC program called
"Pride in the Party" was set up to recruit more homosexual delegates and
homosexual delegates of color...

In a major decision likely to re-draw the battle lines of the gay
rights movement, the California Supreme Court today ruled against two
doctors who declined to artificially inseminate a lesbian.

The doctors, who are Christians, strongly believe that children should
be raised whenever possible by a mother and father. To that end, they
did not want to participate in the deliberate exclusion of a father as
sought by Guadalupe Benitez and her partner, Joanne Clark...
