Planned Parenthood is fighting back against a claim by Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain that abortion clinics are put in African American communities as part of a "planned genocide" to kill black babies before they are born.

Cain stood by his statement when questioned about it on Sunday, saying he would direct people to the words of Margaret Sanger, the late founder of Planned Parenthood and a supporter of eugenics.

"Seventy-five percent of those facilities were built in the black community. In Margaret Sanger's own words, she didn't use the word 'genocide,' but she did talk about preventing the increasing number of poor blacks in this country by preventing black babies from being born," Cain told CBS' "Face the Nation"...

Former Ohio State Senator Kevin Coughlin, Mandel’s only major competitor, has dropped out of the race. According to a Federal Election Commission (FEC) report, Coughlin terminated his campaign on October 14th.

Armed with the endorsements of influential conservative leaders and organizations like Senator Jim DeMint, Club for Growth, Mark Levin and Erick Erickson of RedState, Mandel has proven himself a fundraising powerhouse. In fact, Mandel’s totals surpassed those of his incumbent Democratic opponent during the last fundraising quarter. Thus far in the campaign, Mandel has raised $3.5 million. Currently, Mandel has $3.25 million on hand, $1.5 million coming in during the last quarter.

In an new interview, Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain says he would support a Human Life Amendment to the U.S, Constitution that would ban abortion by protecting unborn children under law.

Cain has advanced the pro-life cause throughout his political career but came under fire this past week when he gave an interview to CNN on Wednesday in which he used typical “pro-choice” language about government not making abortion decisions for women that applied, depending on the listener, to either abortions in the case of rape and incest or abortion policy in general. Either way, pro-life advocates have been disappointed following the comments and they have called on Cain to clarify the comments — which he did in a short message on twitter later in the day saying he is “100% pro-life.”

Cain, later Thursday, released a statement saying he is fully pro-life, saying he will appoint the kind of judges who would be inclined to consider reversing Roe v.

A national poll recently conducted and released by Angus Reid Public Opinion shows that only 21 percent of people believe abortion ought to be legal in all cases.

The poll tracks closely with others from the last three decades, and Derrick Jones of the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC) tells OneNewsNow the results are similar with what Gallup found earlier this year, "that people really are rejecting the idea of abortion for any reason throughout the entire pregnancy. It also shows that until we get to a point that we can welcome the unborn child in life and protect them in law, the American people are very supportive of laws that protect both mothers and their unborn children," he adds.

The Angus Reid poll also shows that the vast majority of people surveyed, whether Democrat or Republican, support parental consent before an abortion is provided to an underage girl.

Herman Cain sought to clarify his position on abortion Thursday after one rival seized on comments he made saying that while he opposes abortion, the government shouldn’t decide whether women can terminate their pregnancies.

In an interview Wednesday with CNN, Cain said he believes life begins at conception. "And abortion under no circumstances," he added. But Cain also said "it's not the government's role or anybody else's role to make that decision," according to a CNN transcript.

Asked whether his personal views would become a "directive to the nation," should he become president, Cain said they wouldn't.

"I can have an opinion on an issue without it being a directive on the nation," he said.

Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain is raising eyebrows today of pro-life advocates and political pundits who thought he had previously taken a pro-life position on abortion.

In a new interview with Piers Morgan Wednesday night on CNN, Cain put forward a position that is reminding some of political like Mario Cuomo or Bill Clinton, who said they were personally pro-life but would not allow government to put laws into place protecting unborn children. Cain responded to questions concerning abortion in the case of rape or incest and said that, while he is pro-life, government should have no role in making the decision.

However, some observers say Cain was talking about more than rape or incest and point to his comments saying it appears he was talking about abortion in a general sense when saying government should have no role in protecting unborn children from abortions.

The House of representatives will vote next week on legislation that would stop abortion funding in Obamacare, the national health care plan that contains no limits on taxpayer funding of abortions.

H.R. 358, Protect Life Act, will likely come up for a vote on the House floor next Thursday after pro-life lawmakers fended off numerous hostile amendments from pro-abortion members of Congress during the committee markup. The Protect Life Act makes it clear that no funds authorized or appropriated by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), including tax credits and cost-sharing reductions, may be used to pay for abortion or abortion coverage.

"Darn right!" an audience member at the fundraiser shouted as Obama described the regulation.

“Darn tooting!” Obama said back.

The proposed regulation, designed to implement part of Obamacare, will require all private health plans in the United States to cover sterilizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives--including those that cause abortions—without charging any fees or co-pay. These regulations were drawn to implement a provision in Obama’s health-care law that calls for all health-care plans to cover “preventive services”...

Republicans and Democrats in Congress are preparing for what may be a massive battle on taxpayer funding of abortion, abortion promotion and the Planned Parenthood abortion business.

Yesterday, the House passed H.R. 2608, a continuing resolution to fund the federal government at current levels and under current conditions until November 18. The Senate passed its version of the continuing resolution last week and the final bill to fund the federal government will go to President Barack Obama for his signature.

Now, Congress has less than two months to put together another spending bill to send to Obama to keep the federal government running beyond that.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney interviewed on the Fox News show hosted by former GOP presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee and the former Massachusetts governor insisted he is pro-life on abortion. Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor who sparred with Romney during the 2008 presidential election, wasted no time asking Romney the question on the minds of some pro-life advocates who still have doubts about Romney following his conversion to the pro-life position.

“There’s still concerns that some of the social conservatives have,” Huckabee said. “Would you be a pro-life president and what would that mean for you? How would you give some assurance that that’s not something they have to worry about if Mitt Romney is president?”

Romney answered by saying he would appoint conservative to the Supreme Court who would not make law from the bench in the same way seven justices did in 1973 with the Roe v.
