"Black children are an endangered species" is the theme of a billboard campaign in Georgia meant to reduce abortions among African-American women.

There are now 80 billboards in predominately African-American neighborhoods of metro Atlanta. The signs began appearing in late January and are expected to be taken down soon. Ryan Bomberger, founder of The Radiance Foundation, shares his thoughts on the campaign's success.

"The best way to measure it is to see the way that the opposition has risen so strongly against it," he comments. "More importantly to us, though, are the testimonies that have come in -- I mean the hundreds of e-mails that have come in as a result of the campaign, and many of them talking about personal transformations of heart and mind"...

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Congressman Bart Stupak caused outrage within the pro-life community when he wrote an opinion column which appeared in the Washington Post on March 27. The article raised eyebrows as Stupak attacked pro-life organizations by saying they are more interested in politics than pro-life.

"The pro-life groups rallied behind me -- many without my knowledge or consent -- not necessarily because they shared my goals of ensuring protections for life and passing health-care reform but because they viewed me as their best chance to kill health-care legislation," Stupak wrote.

The niece of civil rights activist Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., is encouraging African Americans who voted for President Barack Obama to let the White House know they expect the executive order signed as part of healthcare reform to protect the unborn.

Dr. Alveda King, director of Priests for Life's African American Outreach, reports that the black culture is being targeted by the abortion industry -- and she believes those who voted for President Obama need to make their voices heard.

"Even if it's intended to be lip service, people should start saying 'No -- put some teeth in that thing,'" she urges. "If you signed it, then you need to mean it, President Obama. There should be no funding for abortion in any legislation that you sign, period. I think that people should make that voice heard, and the White House should know the desire of the people because over 50 percent of America is pro-life now. Every poll keeps demonstrating that"...

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- President Barack Obama is signing the reconciliation bill -- the second part of the new government-run health care system that makes changes to the law he signed last week. Although the bill "fixes" problems on unrelated political issues, it does not alter the abortion funding or promotion in the law he signed.

Obama's signing comes as Americans still oppose the pro-abortion health care bill, give him low approval ratings and support lawsuits seeking to overturn it in court.

The "fixes" bill received final legislative approval last Thursday with a 220-207 vote in the House and a 56-43 vote in the Senate. In both cases, some pro-life Democrats joined all Republicans to oppose the bill.

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Two new national polls show Americans want the pro-abortion health care bill President Barack Obama signed into law repealed. They also show voters want Republican lawmakers to keep fighting against the government-run health care system and to promote legislation to repeal it.

Just before the House passed and Obama signed the health care bill that funds abortions, Americans opposed it on a 54-41 percentage point margin, according to Rasmussen.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey, conducted on the first two nights after the president signed the bill, shows 55 percent want the law repealed whiled 42 percent oppose that. Those figures include 46% who strongly favor repeal and 35% who strongly oppose it.

Republicans overwhelmingly favor repeal while most Democrats are opposed. Among those not affiliated with either major party, 59% favor repeal, and 35% are against it...
