WASHINGTON – Former Sen. Rick Santorum moved into second place Tuesday in the race for delegates with wins in Republican presidential caucuses in Colorado and Minnesota.

Santorum picked up at least 28 delegates while former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney got at least six.

Overall, Romney has 107 delegates, including endorsements from members of the Republican National Committee who automatically attend the party's national convention and can support any candidate they choose. Santorum has 45 delegates, Newt Gingrich has 32 and Ron Paul has nine.

The race for delegates is still in the early stages. It will take 1,144 delegates to win the GOP nomination.

Santorum also won the Missouri primary Tuesday, but the party is not awarding any delegates based on the results. Instead, Missouri will award its 52 delegates through a system of caucuses and conventions, starting March 17.

Catholic bishops are calling the faithful to oppose an Obamacare mandate requiring them to violate their faith. This bodes poorly for Obama in November, given that the Catholic vote has chosen the president in nine of the last ten elections.

Obamacare’s critics argue that the law is unconstitutional because the federal government cannot force an individual to purchase healthcare, or anything else, for that matter.

Now, with the birth-control coverage mandate soon to be implemented, the Catholic Church is ramping up its efforts to fight the regulation which they believe violates their First Amendment rights. The newly-energized opposition does not bode well for Team Obama’s reelection.

The Rasmussen Reports Daily Presidential Tracking Poll for one day only -- Feb. 5. -- marks the first time Santorum has held a lead over Obama in potential matchups.

It’s a small lead for Santorum -- 1 percentage point, giving him a 45-44 percent edge over Obama.

“This is the first time Santorum has ever led the president in any poll,” the Rasmussen poll said. “Several other GOP challengers have led the president a single time in the polls, including Rick Perry, Herman Cain, and Newt Gingrich. Each man briefly held the lead while they were surging in the polls, only to fall quickly. It remains to be seen what will happen to Santorum’s support”...

Donald Trump plans to endorse Mitt Romney at an event Thursday in Las Vegas, multiple sources close to the campaign confirm to Fox News.

The endorsement comes after Romney soundly defeated Newt Gingrich in the Florida Republican presidential primary on Tuesday, and ahead of Nevada's caucuses this Saturday.

Despite earlier reports that Trump planned on endorsing Gingrich, sources close to the Romney campaign confirmed the real estate mogul will back the former Massachusetts governor.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – GOP presidential hopeful Rick Santorum is headed back on the campaign trail after his sick 3-year-old daughter made a "miraculous turnaround" Sunday.

Santorum cancelled many weekend campaign events after returning home to find his daughter Bella hospitalized with pneumonia and "not doing well."

However, Santorum told Florida voters during a call Sunday that his daughter had turned a corner, and he would be heading back to his campaign.

He described the situation as a "very, very tough night last night" but said by late Sunday Bella was "alert and back to her own beautiful, happy girl."

"It's been a very hectic 36 hours," Santorum said. "Life in the Santorum family has dramatically improved since the late afternoon."

He said doctors hope she can go home in the next few days.

After hearing of Bella's illness, rivals and partisans set down their talking points and instead offered prayers and well wishes to the Santorum family...

Romney could be said to be not authentic on his pro-life conversion because he supported abortion before that and some say the conversion was political. Santorum has faced questions for endorsing pro-abortion Sen. Arlen Specter, his Pennsylvania college when he served in the U.S. Senate.

Gingrich has faced criticism for not sufficiently believing life begins at conception or fertilization and for not pressing pro-life issues as much as he could have in Congress.
