The Democrat presidential nominee in 1988, Massachusetts Governor Michael S. Dukakis, said about the ethical standards of the Reagan Administration, “There’s an old Greek saying … the fish rots from the head first. It starts at the top.”  Dukakis went on to say that scandal and misconduct had become “almost an epidemic.  It’s the guy at the top who has to be held accountable.”

However, the ethical standards of the Reagan Administration were pristine compared to the cesspool of ethics scandals and the rampant lawlessness of the current Democrat administration.  Dukakis could have been describing the current occupant of the White House as the number of major presidential scandals continues to accelerate under Barack Obama.

As the American people are now finding out  --   little thanks to the “see no evil” mainstream news media  --  because of the president’s frequent attacks on his political opposition, his underlings, including apparently all the way up to his chief of staff, have been shading the truth; lying to the American people and to the news media, and are committing crimes in the name of their president.

“K St. lobbyists predict a big rebound in 2013,” blared in gigantic bold letters at the top of the front-page article in “The Hill” newspaper on March 5, 2013.  Let us all hope that headline is not true.  Because what is good for K Street is bad for American taxpayers and vice versa, for the most part.  Those of us who have worked on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. have friends who are or have been corporate lobbyists on K Street which runs parallel to Constitution and Independence Avenues, between the Capitol Building and the White House.  “The Hill” article reported that “K Street firms are predicting a strong rebound in 2013.”

While watching his fellow Yankees, Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris, hit homeruns, the incomparable Yogi Berra uttered the famous phrase:  “It’s déjà vu all over again!” 

In the now infamous and so-called Y2K “crisis” before the turn of the millennium on January 1, 2000, there were dire warnings for months in advance about mass computer and system shut-downs and countless disruptions of services all over the world.  It did not happen. 

Never before has an American president played the American people for fools such as Barack Obama has done this year with his apocalyptic warnings about what is going to happen tomorrow when the paltry “sequestration” spending cuts hit the federal government; a cut of little over 2% ($44 billion in actual outlays) out of a gargantuan fiscal year budget of over $3.5 trillion. 

The following are a few of the consequences, according to Obama and his liberal acolytes, that will occur if the scheduled cuts resulting from Obama’s own sequestration scheme  --  which he and his new Treasury Secretary Jack Lew hatched during the summer of 2011  --  go through tomorrow:

President Obama has announced key White House posts, including the appointment of Deputy National Security Advisor and former fellow at the Center for American Progress, Denis McDonough, as White House Chief of Staff.  The other posts are listed below:

Since November’s election, which gave the Democrats the White House and the Senate and the Republicans the House of Representatives, there have been two major pieces of legislation on the floor of the House of Representatives; the first, a big spending and taxing bill, and the second, a big spending bailout bill.  Both times, the Republican-controlled House passed the bills with a very small number of Republicans voting for them. The Republican leaders could have, and should have, refused to bring these bills to the House floor for a vote. In the first of these two big spending bills, the Republican-controlled House also passed the biggest tax increase in some 20 years; Barack Obama’s whopping $620 BILLION tax increase legislation.

When the Tea Party and conservative movements gave control of the House of Representatives to the Republicans in 2010 with a huge pick-up of 63 new seats,   --  after the GOP had lost majority control in 2006 because of their prolific spending  --  and control of the House again with a large majority last November, there was no way conservatives believed that the Republican Party would repay them with two gargantuan back-to-back spending bills. 

In a recently unmentioned move by the Obama Administration, Ellie Shafer (Director/White House Visitor’s Office) disseminated an email newsletter to Congress, and visiting parties, providing detailed instructions on how to register an unborn child. This would be specifically for for the White House security system input, and for arranging group tours.

This specifically means for a White House tour the unborn child is considered to be a living, breathing person. Shafer wrote, “… You MUST include the baby in the overall count of guests in the tour.”

The newsletter explains how "the baby's security information should be entered" into the system. If known, they want the gender included. It also instructed how all known information should be updated "once, the baby is born". We already know the baby is a young human from the point of conception, even though it won’t cause any undue interruption in White House events, or even ‘pull a gun out, and start making demands’.

The Great Chicken Trial of Brentwood (see story on this website) has egged on the nation to arise and set...to push Rights For Hens! The Brentwood incident started over a woman who kept two hens in her backyard which outraged a neighbor who charged the hens with poop-bombing HER yard which would bring fatal diseases into her house and throughout the neighborhood. The dispute was heard before the Brentwood planning Commission which spurred the nation to action. At the same time, a similar case was brought in Oakland where the hens won...YES...and resulted in Oakland declaring itself a "Chicken Friendly City." As reported by the Contra Costa Times (1/10/10), since the declaration the sounds of saws and hammers can be heard in the backyards of Oakland as everyone is now building chicken coops. California has finally advanced.

Never has any dinner party experienced more heart-burn and indigestion than Obama's First State Dinner. A couple crashed the party, mingled with guests and the president. Only problem was that they were not invited, unless inviting themselves qualifies as a valid invitation.  Lots of running around in Washington, D.C. as everybody blames everybody else for the severe security lapse. At least we now know what the D.C. stands for--Dam confusion.

Fingers pointed in all directions seeking a statement from The One, who forcefully and dramatically pontificated:  "The system didn't work the way it was supposed to."

Mark Sullivan, head of the Secret Service, that exists to protect the president, was asked if White House employees stationed at the entrance would have prevented this couple from intruding and at one point getting in the face of the president?  His thoughtful answer; "It would have helped. "  (This is why we don't have to make up quips for MilesTones.)

The couple was asked to appear at a special congressional hearing on the matter, but they failed to show up. They probably didn't go because they didn't know how to act at a function they were INVITED to.
