The UN Human Rights Council recently released its report of the Israeli-Gaza conflict last summer known as Operation Protective Edge. The report cites violations of international law and alleged possible war crimes on both sides.
Prime Minister Netanyahu described the report as “morally flawed.” Dore Gold, Israel’s former ambassador to the United Nations and world renowned expert on Middle Eastern affairs, also responded to the report by describing Israel’s position and discussion on tunnels, timing on ending the confrontation, unnecessary deaths by the Palestinians and the protection of Israel afforded by Iron Dome.
Right track? Wrong track? The November 24, 2014 deadline has come and gone. As in the once very popular game of Monopoly, Iran drew another ‘get out of jail free’ card and the right to ‘return to Go’ - to go ahead with seven more months of continuing nuclear advancement. That’s what U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and five other nations received for all the time and effort invested in nuclear negotiations however Kerry did receive a slap in the face from Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Before the talks, Khamenei is reported to have opined that the U.S.
Jews and Christians alike are quite familiar with the biblical story of David and Goliath. Of course, it is much more than just a story. It is the true account of a historic event, a most important and significant event in the life of the Jewish people and nation.
The army of the enemy Philistines was camped nearby the army of the Israelites. The Philistines were prepared and ready to attack and they were confident of victory. They sent out their giant warrior, Goliath, to shout defiant threats to the Israelites.
Any attempt by the world to solve the problem between the Jews and radical Islam is futile. There can never, ever be an answer to peace designed by man. No nationality on the face of the earth can lay claim to the land of Israel simply because it belongs to God Almighty and God Almighty, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, gave it to the Jewish people. No prophet nor prophetess, preacher or evangelist or any learned theologian can overrule that eternal covenant. It has been proven without a shadow of a doubt throughout the ages that any country, man or organization that has come against this Holy Land and her people will not survive. There is only one word and that is the Word of the Living, Holy, Almighty God and that Word will prevail when everything els
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently addressed the United Nations General Assembly, strongly defending the existence of the state of Israel, and stressing that the Jewish state "will live forever." He also warned the nations of the world that a nuclear armed Iran will be a great threat not only to Israel and the Middle East, but also to all the world.
He started his speech by saying that he was happy to be addressing the UN General Assembly, which was being presided over by the Israeli Ambassador to the UN. Then the first item on his agenda was to stress the long existence of the state of Israel and to defend its present existence. "Three thousand years ago," he said, "King David ruled over a nation called Israel, and from a capital called Jerusalem." He added, "Today we are happy to have a modern Jewish state that will live forever."
How can the entire world seemingly ignore the realities of the conflict between Israel and her Arab neighbors — including the very real threats to Israel’s existence from radical Islam? Is it just blindness, or is it something much deeper? Have world leaders not learned any lessons from past history? Can they not recognize evil when they see it? Will they not acknowledge the contamination of anti-Semitism in their own minds?
