Easter Sunday Morning 2011
The most sacred and beloved observance for Christians is Easter. As a child I remember getting dressed on Easter Sunday morning and walking with my parents a block over to the North Park Presbyterian Church in Evansville, Indiana. It was a small brick church and seeing the tulips and irises in full bloom in front of the church was always a mysterious joy as they seemed to have materialized and bloomed that very morning.

Those were the days when people had manners and respect. No one would even think of showing disrespect toward the church. This was our heritage and culture. Today, people openly insult the church along with our sincere beliefs, and sadly, Easter itself, which would have been unheard of in earlier years. But today, it is obvious that the world has totally lost its class and any sense of decency that it may have once possessed.

CHRIST IS RISEN FROM THE DEAD,

TRAMPLING DOWN DEATH BY DEATH,

AND UPON THOSE IN THE TOMBS BESTOWING LIFE!

This message has been proclaimed by the Church since earliest antiquity. It is the cornerstone of our Faith, that upon which everything else depends. St. Paul writes,

"I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE" - JOHN 11:25a

Easter is our season to rejoice and be glad for "Christ our Passover lamb has been sacrificed" and is alive for ever more and dwells in our hearts.

This is good news for each of us. Easter is our most important yearly celebration. We as Christians celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ our risen Lord every day but especially at the Easter season when our hearts turn toward Calvary. We as Christians must remember that His death gives us the only true freedom from the slavery of bondage and sin. What a Redeemer!

Roberta Combs, our president and all of the staff of the Christian Coalition of America pray that each family experiences a fresh move of the Resurrection power of the risen Lord this beautiful season of the year. We pray you will be filled and refreshed by the Holy Spirit that dwells within you. We pray that the love of God touches each member of your family in a very special way.

Please continue to pray for all elected officials and the Health Care Reform. Pray for Israel, our military and families, all prayer request that come to the Christian Coalition, poverty, world hunger and water supplies, salvation of the nations of world, youth of America, sickness, marriages, economic problems, the housing problems and all who can't find work. Pray God will open doors and supply each need in this very difficult time in America.
