What a media firestorm that would be.
In the spring of 2004, President George W. Bush was unknowingly caught by an open microphone telling the Israeli Prime Minister in a private meeting that if Israel would hold off on bombing Syria’s nuclear weapons facility, the United States would “bomb Syria to Kingdom come right after my last election” that November. A lengthy firestorm of protest came from the John Kerry presidential campaign and the liberal media supporting Kerry.
That did not happen.
However, in real life this week at the Nuclear Security Summit in Seoul, Korea, Barack Obama was caught conspiring with the Russian president, Dmitry Medvedev -- not knowing that there was a live microphone recording their each and every word. President Medvedev agreed to transmit Obama’s message to the newly-elected Russian president, Vladimir Putin.
