Conservative victories in Europe threaten America's Democrat Party

The world conservative movement won a huge victory in Europe this past weekend because European voters rejected left-wing take-overs of businesses and huge government spending to combat the severe world-wide recession.   They are rejecting the Nanny state said Glenn Beck on his show on Monday.

Considering that those socialist policies are exactly what the Obama administration is forcing upon America  --  with the help of an extreme left-wing United States Congress  --  the European election results portend disastrous consequences for the Democrat Party in next year's congressional elections  --  unless the "Blue Dog Democrats" and others with commonsense stop their party's rabidly partisan and ideological leadership.

The center-right elected candidates picked up 267 seats in the European Parliament.  On the other hand, the center-left politicians won only 159 seats.   Daniel Hannan, conservative British Member of the European Parliament, said on the Glenn Beck Show on Fox News this past Monday that people make a mistake when they assume that liberal democracies are a permanent fixture in Europe.

Likewise, the Democrat leadership in the White House and in Congress  --  as well as pessimistic Republicans  --  are making a mistake if they believe Barack Obama's, Nancy Pelosi's and Harry Reid's pell-mell rush to socialism will be a permanent fixture in this country.

Theological Slippery Slope

This blog is in regard to the Christian Coalition's article, "Christian Coalition of America condemns Democrat-controlled House for passing "Thought Crimes" bill".  I would like to take a moment to address the misguided logic within this article as well as the theological distortions used to oppose the Hate Crimes Bill.  It seems that this bill has dredged up some fears of Christian conservatives that the right to denounce homosexuality in a non-threatening manor would be taken away.  This is hardly the case.  Fox News published an article today on their website that refutes many of these claims:

"Frederick Lawrence, a law professor at George Washington University, said there is nothing within the language of the hate crimes bill that would allow for the prosecution of individuals who simply speak out against a particular sexual or ethnic group.

Former Senator Rick Santorum speaks out on former GOP leadership

Former Pennsylvania US Senator Rick Santorum spoke out this past weekend about the failures of past Republican leadership.  Specifically, how they had failed conservatism, which then resulted in political defeat.

Addressing the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington, DC, Santorum said that the losses at the ballot box came because the leadership lost sight of, or were unwilling to implement conservative principles.  He went on to say that it was “conservatives who failed conservatism and that failed America.”

In regards to the current financial situation and recurring bailouts:

Santorum says he tried to convince his friends in the Bush White House that using billions in taxpayer dollars to bail out Wall Street banks in hopes of saving the credit markets was the wrong thing to do, but they did not listen to him and instead “opened up a door that the next president is driving a bulldozer through.”

And the next several generations of Americans will be paying for it.
