Democrat Senator: Pro-lifers "don’t deserve the freedoms in the Constitution"

Do pro-life conservatives deserve the freedoms of our Constitution?  At least one liberal Democrat Senator says they don't.

At a recent Planned Parenthood rally to keep its hands in taxpayer's pocketbooks, New Jersey Senator Frank Lautenberg said that "Planned Parenthood is under attack by Tea Party Republicans who have put their extremist ideology above women's health".  He then went a step further and, referring to pro-life counter-protestors, stated: "These people don't deserve the freedoms in the Constitution!"

New Jersey pro-life activist Marie Tasy suggested that such comments provide "evidence of how Planned Parenthood and its supporters actually feel."

She went on:

“This statement is shameful coming from a U.S. Senator,” Tasy added. “Lautenberg made these remarks surrounded by Planned Parenthood employees, supporters and state lawmakers who applauded him. These remarks are absolutely shameful and need to be exposed.”

Exactly.

The rally itself was part of Planned Parenthood's campaign involving a pink bus that's been traveling the country to drum up support for keeping their tens of millions of dollars in taxpayer funding in place.  This from an organization that has, as Tasy pointed out, been caught on tape engaging in criminal activity, (including aiding and abetting in the sex trafficking of minor girls).

Obama admin trying to eliminate doctor and nurse conscience protections on abortion

The more the bureaucracy moves to enact the Obama administration's notion of health care "reform", the worse it gets.  In this case, it's their move to eliminate the conscience protection rights concerning abortion that were provided for by the Bush administration.

Those protections were put in place on behalf of those in the medical community who did not want to be forced to participate in performing abortions.  The 2008 rule by the Bush administration was put in place to prohibit recipients of any federal funding from discriminating against those who had such moral objections.

The Obama administration now wants to reverse that somewhat and force those medical personnel to distribute drugs which are intended to induce abortion.

Several pro-life groups are sending a letter to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius warning her of the alarming effects on patients that will follow the Obama administration’s recent move to strip the medical community of key conscience protections on abortion. ...

Baby Born Alive Stabbed to Death at Clinic--plus--Re-education for America

How's that again? On Tuesday (2/9/11-Contra Costa Times) we learned that a business in Antioch, California denied an unidentified man a position as a residential counselor for American Education and Travel Services because he was not a U.S. Citizen or native English speaker.

A ‘discrimination' lawsuit was brought against the firm which was ordered by the court to pay $10,000 in damages to the man in this ‘anti-discrimination' case. The court also mandated that the company provide anti-discrimination training ..or...as they call it in Communist China...re-education.

The feds, according to their rule book, "protects workers from discrimination based on citizenship status or national origin" and must hire someone for a job even if they are not qualified and can't speak English. So this means that according to law, we are forbidden to say ‘no' to anybody for any reason. If they want something from us, we MUST grant them what they want, because everybody has rights.

Granting a “Right” to Abortion is Far Above the Supreme Court’s Pay Grade

Recent exposes involving Planned Parenthood and its support of abortions for underage girls have ignited a political firestorm among social conservatives and breathed life into a nation-wide campaign to eliminate taxpayer funding for the “family planning” organization.

Pro-life members of Congress also have introduced legislation to bar government subsidies for abortions and – with narrow exceptions – health plans that cover abortions.  State lawmakers around the country are pushing to ban or to put strict limits on such procedures as well.

Yet another Planned Parenthood video scandal

Just as Congress is beginning to consider several pieces of legislation that (taken together) would end taxpayer subsidization of abortion, there is yet another undercover video showing us the real face of Planned Parenthood.

The first bombshell video that surfaced over a week ago showed a Planned Parenthood worker helping an alleged pimpt and underage prostitute find out how to get access to taxpayer funded abortions and other services.

In the latest video, Planned Parenthood worker offers help on how to get Medicaid covered insurance for underage prostitutes and any abortions or other services they may need, (whether or not they are US citizens).

Remember, this is an organization that has received over ONE BILLION in federal tax dollars...and facilitated the killing of 325,000 unborn children every year.  Again, with OUR TAX DOLLARS!

If you haven't done it yet, be sure to join our campaign to end ALL taxpayer funding of abortion.

Vanderbilt backtracks on forcing nursing students to assist abortions

As incredible as it seems, Vanderbilt University actually HAD a policy of forcing its nursing students to pledge to assist in abortions that they have since backtracked from.  Note that they have to "pledge" that they will assist, which leads one to believe they didn't have a lot of volunteers otherwise.

Here's their statement that accompanies the pledge:

“If you are chosen for the Nurse Residency Program in the Women’s Health track, you will be expected to care for women undergoing termination of pregnancy. Procedures performed in the Labor and Delivery unit include…terminations of pregnancy,” it states. “If you feel you cannot provide care to women during this type of event, we encourage you to apply to a different track of the Nurse Residency Program to explore opportunities that may best fit your skills and career goals.”

What makes it even more perverse is that it forced people who wanted to study to save lives to assist in taking them before they could complete studies necessary for their profession.

Of course the university didn't "backtrack" until a complaint was filed by a pro-life legal group.

It turns out that Vandy receives more than $300 million in federal funding every year, and it is against federal law for funding recipients to force health care workers (or those studying the profession) to violate their conscious or religious beliefs by participating in abortions.

No Abortions

Abortion and euthanasia have become preeminent threats to human dignity because they directly attack life itself, the most fundamental human good and the condition for all others. They are committed against those who are weakest and most defenseless, those who are genuinely "the poorest of the poor." They are endorsed increasingly without the veil of euphemism, as supporters of abortion and euthanasia freely concede these are killing even as they promote them. Sadly, they are practiced in those communities which ordinarily provide a safe haven for the weak -- the family and the healing professions. Such direct attacks on human life, once crimes, are today legitimized by governments sworn to protect the weak and marginalized.

New effort to end taxpayer funding of abortion

Several new pieces of legislation are being introduced that aim to end any taxpayer funding of abortion and/or groups such as Planned Parenthood.

The "No Taxpayer Funding of Abortion Act" is being introducted by Republican Rep. Chris Smith (NJ) and Democrat Rep. Dan Lipinski (IL), which would institute a government wide ban on any federal funding for abortion, as well as provide conscience protections for health care providers.  (By the way, Lipinski was one of the rare Democrat incumbents that was re-elected in November, largely because he remained pro-life and voted against ObamaCare).

Indiana Republican Rep. Mike Pence will be introducing a bill that would specifically defund Planned Parenthood, (which received over$350 million in federal dollars in 2008.

Of course introducing a bill is just a first step in a legislative battle, but given the new GOP control of the House, we can be pretty certain they would receive a full, fair hearing and a floor vote...and then we'll see what happens with the Senate.  As LifeNews reports, 80 of the 87 incoming freshmen Republican House members are pro-life.

Pro-Life label can be Very Inaccurate

It’s very confusing when someone says they’re pro-life. What exactly does that mean? Does that indicate the alleged pro-life person would vote to directly affect Roe vs. Wade (SC decision in 1973 that made it legal to abort in all months of pregnancy)? Heath Shuler (D/NC) claims he’s pro-life, but his Asheville office said in 2008 that he would not vote to rescind Roe vs. Wade.

It’s easy to go a step further. Would it be OK to abort if you thought something was seriously wrong with the baby? If you knew it had Down Syndrome? If it was conceived by incest? By rape? What if you thought you needed to get rid of it for another reason?
