CHRISTIAN COALITION OF AMERICA ANNOUNCES IT WILL "SCORE" UPCOMING HOUSE HEALTH CARE VOTE AND INCLUDE IT IN 2010 VOTER GUIDES
Christian Coalition of America announced Tuesday that it will be scoring both the upcoming vote on the parliamentary rule under which the House Rules Committee proposes to consider the health care bill, as well as the vote on the final passage of the legislation.
All Representatives voting for the proposed "rule" will receive two negative votes in the Christian Coalition of America's 2010 Congressional Scorecard.
Coalition President Roberta Combs stressed the importance of the issue, stating, "Democrat leaders have flouted normal procedures in order to ram through a big government program that the American people do not want. They have avoided having a conference committee, they have plotted to use budget reconciliation rules to skirt the Senate's rules of debate and now House leaders are attempting to ‘pass' a bill without actually voting on it. It is a truly sorry spectacle and the American people are justifiably angry."
"This bill would result in taxpayer funding of abortion, higher health insurance premiums, a busted budget, and add to our out of control national debt", Combs stated. "In the process, the health care options of the American people will be diminished and 1/6th of our economy will come under the thumb of the federal government."
Combs indicated that the health care vote will also be reflected on the Coalition's 2010 voter guides, millions of which will be distributed in churches all across America in the weeks' prior to this November's mid-term elections.
"Our voter guides are an invaluable tool to help educate voters and identify where candidates for public office stand on the issues, and this issue will certainly be included. Members of Congress should keep that in mind before they vote on this bill."
