Washington, D.C. - In races all across the country, Americans turned out in large numbers in support of conservative candidates, conservative issues and they rejected big government liberalism.

Christian Coalition of American President Roberta Combs stated, "Over the course of this summer we've seen increasing numbers of Americans identify with conservative values and begin to speak out. Conservative activists and groups, including Christian Coalition of America, have been working hard for months to energize and activate fellow conservatives and it clearly paid off at the ballot box."

"This should give pause to moderate Democrats in Congress as they consider whether or not to support President Obama and Nancy Pelosi's agenda of big government run healthcare."

New Jersey Christian Coalition Chairman Bill Thompson stated, "This election was about issues and motivation. Clearly voters were educated and embraced conservative issues. And clearly they are motivated."

As a result of Maine's marriage referendum, it becomes the 31st state where voters have rejected gay marriage, continuing an unbroken string of election victories for traditional marriage. Currently, liberals in Congress have vowed to overturn the 1996 Federal Defense of Marriage Act, which defines marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

"Members of Congress should think twice about lending their support to an effort that's so radical it hasn't even been approved by voters in one single state", said Combs.

Traditional marriage supporters won despite being outspent more than two to one.
