ST. PAUL, MN - Christian Coalition of America, represented at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota last night by top Christian Coalition leadership, said that "Governor Sarah Palin sealed the deal with the Republican Party and many Independents as she proved she is neither bitter about guns nor religion," a dig at a speech to San Francisco Democrats by the leader of the opposition ticket earlier this year.

Governor Palin and her family -- who has been under withering political fire for the past few days by left-wingers -- provided evidence last night that she has what it takes to be Vice President of the United States. After an 8 minute standing ovation when she was introduced, Governor Palin, with great humor, demolished the arguments that she would fold under pressure and showed that she would be more than a capable foe for her counterpart on the Democrat ticket.

Mrs. Roberta Combs, President of the Christian Coalition of America, sitting in the honored guest section with a number of other Christian Coalition leadership said after Governor Sarah Palin's speech: "I am very proud that Senator John McCain was strong enough to pick a capable, pro-life, pro-family conservative in Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate. The fact that he did means that he has probably assured victory in November with the help of a lot of pro-family and conservative Americans during the next 60 days."

Governor Palin -- a life-time member of the National Rifle Association, whose husband and she decided to demonstrate their strong pro-life views by keeping their Down syndrome baby, Trig Palin -- told the standing-room-only crowd and a massive television audience that she was "not a member of the permanent political establishment." She added that she is not going to Washington to seek the good opinion of "all those reporters and commentators." Governor Palin said, "I'm going to Washington to serve the people of this great country." All in all, it was a tremendous performance and a preview of what is to come tonight in the final night of the Republican convention, and indeed for the next two months before the election.
