Christian Coalition of America at Today's Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing for Judge Samuel A. Alito
Washington, D.C. -- Christian Coalition will be represented at today's hearing of the Senate Judiciary Committee debating the nomination of Judge Samuel A. Alito to become Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court. The president of Christian Coalition of America, Roberta Combs said, "A majority of the American people believes that Judge Samuel Alito should be confirmed to the United States Supreme Court. They are tired of federal judges legislating from the bench. Supreme Court justices are there only to interpret the United States Constitution and the laws made by the legislature, and finally to decide cases."
It is appropriate that -- in the very same month, 33 years ago, in which the United States Supreme Court issued their infamous Roe v. Wade decision, effectively allowing abortion-on-demand in America with a loss of over 40 million lives of unborn children so far --the Senate Judiciary Committee this week will be debating the abortion issue. President George W. Bush made campaign promises in both his 2000 and 2004 campaigns promising to appoint Supreme Court justices in the mold of Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas. Both have voted in the past to overturn the abominable Roe v. Wade decision.
The Christian Coalition of America is America’s largest Christian grassroots organization with more than 2 million supporters. The organization’s website may be referenced at: http://www.cc.org
