Christian Coalition of America Urges Americans to Call Both Senators on Democrats' Defense Bill Vote Next Tuesday Forcing Open Homosexuals Upon the Military

Christian Coalition of America President Roberta Combs is urging all Americans -- who care about our fighting forces in Iraq and in Afghanistan and around the world -- to call both of their Senators immediately to stop yet another Democrat power grab, this time far more onerous than all the others these past two years.

The Democrat Senate leadership intends to force open homosexuals upon the military if they are able to break the Republican filibuster of their bill next Tuesday or Wednesday.  The Democrats are cynically imperiling our courageous troops by using an annual defense bill to pass their left-wing agenda.  If they break the filibuster, they will also force Americans to pay for abortions in military hospitals and give amnesty to about 6,500,000 illegal aliens.  These are all outrageous actions opposed by a large majority of the American people.

Roberta Combs said:  "We need to stand by our troops against this liberal assault against them, especially while many of them are still at war against our enemies and they are unable to speak up for themselves.  Pro-family Senators need to vote against this effort to break the filibuster against this left-wing defense bill.  It is not an exaggeration to say that this is the most important vote in the history of the American military.  Therefore, Christian Coalition will be using the vote next week in this month's voter guides for the November election.  Any Senator who votes to break the deserved filibuster of this cynical defense bill will receive a negative vote on the CCA 2010 Voter Guides."

The liberal Democrat Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid from Nevada, announced this week that he will schedule the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) vote for next week with his intent to have a vote on repealing the 1993 law -- passed overwhelmingly by a Democrat-controlled Congress and signed by Bill Clinton -- stating that homosexuals are not eligible to serve in the military.

Senators who are considering voting to break the filibuster of the NDAA bill next Tuesday or Wednesday are not thinking about how such a vote poses a serious threat to military morale and readiness.  Christian Coalition of America urges these Senators to put aside their liberal agenda and instead consider what is good for the troops and for America.

We need to get 41 Senators to support the objection to proceed with the National Defense Authorization Act by Senate Armed Services Committee Ranking Member John McCain, R-AZ next Tuesday or Wednesday.

We are very close to winning this important battle for the American military once and for all.  The House of Representatives passed this terrible bill on May 27th, the same day the Senate Armed Services Committee did.  If we win next week's vote, we can kill this bill for good.
