Pray For Our Troops
1st Lieutenant Scott Dillard
Remember to pray for our American military personnel in Iraq
Christian Coalition of America encourages you to pray for the over 140,000 American troops in Iraq. One great friend of Christian Coalition, 1/Lt Robert Scott Dillard, a 2001 graduate of West Point, from Northport, Alabama, was deployed with his infantry company to Iraq in September 2003 from Fort Riley, Kansas. During 2002-2003, Lieutenant Dillard trained a 40-man infantry platoon in Korea, in California and at Ft. Riley, Kansas.
Now Scott is located in the most dangerous area in Iraq. In fact, during his first day in Iraq serving as his infantry company's executive officer, his company commander was hit with enemy shrapnel. Scott immediately became acting company commander responsible for 4 infantry platoons and over 150 men. His company has been catching some of Saddam's bad guys and finding weapons and ammunition caches. Often, his unit goes on several missions a day in this dangerous area.
Scott has been friend of Christian Coalition of America during the past few years. When President Roberta Combs and a few Christian Coalition staff members were invited to Israel by the Prime Minister Sharon's government, Scott paid his way and with Christian Coalition officials, he met many officials in the Israeli government. Scott escorted 15 Members of Congress (including Majority Leader Dick Armey, current Majority Leader Tom DeLay, Majority Whip Roy Blunt, 3 Senators and others) before they gave speeches at the 2002 Road to Victory Conference in Washington D.C. He introduced speakers at Christian Coalition's "Symposium on Islam" in February 2003 in Washington D.C.
Please pray for Army Lieutenant Robert Scott Dillard and for others who are in danger in Iraq. |
