Speak out for prayer
On September 11th, a public event will be held in New York City in commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the dreadful terror attacks of 2001. And God is not welcome.
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is refusing to allow members of the clergy to play a role in the upcoming public memorial service - or to allow any references to faith and prayer.
As you know, faith was the spiritual backbone that carried us through. In the days just after the attacks our public officials were happy to publicly seek God's protection at a high-profile inter-faith service at Yankee Stadium.
How soon they forget.
Will you stand up for free speech and religious liberty and let Mayor Bloomberg hear from you today?
We the undersigned call on New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to support free speech and religious liberty by allowing the inclusion of members of the clergy along with prayers and expressions of thanks to God in public events commemorating the terror attacks of September 11th, 2001.
