Defend Net Neutrality

"Net Neutrality" is an issue extremely important to America's grassroots organizations and to those Americans who want to ensure the cable and phone companies controlling access to the Internet will not discriminate.

Essentially, "net neutrality" means keeping the Internet the way it is now, where all information is treated the same - regardless of content. In other words, no discrimination. It prevents Internet service providers from blocking, speeding up or slowing down any content based on its source, ownership or destination.

If "Net Neutrality" legislation does not pass consumers could ultimately have to pay additionalChristian Coalition Speaking on Capitol Hill on Net Neutrality fees to have or even access certain websites. The cable/telephone monopoly would begin dividing the Internet into a "fast track" and "slow track".

Net Neutrality is the reason why the Internet has grown the way it has and become such an indespensible tool in our lives and our civic discourse.
