Bush 41's biggest mistake: David Souter

The United States Supreme Court announced tonight that one of the most left-wing justices on the Supreme Court in decades, David Souter, is retiring from the nation's top court this summer. Non-court watchers if asked if they knew which president appointed Souter would probably say Jimmy Carter or Bill Clinton. Not even close.

David Souter, from New Hampshire, was described by former Governor and former presidential chief of staff, John Sununu, now Chairman of the New Hampshire Republican Party, as a man as conservative as "you and I" when describing him to conservative Americans to reassure them that Souter would vote like Sununu, for example. Governor Sununu was chiefly responsible for recommending David Souter to the president he worked for, George H. W. Bush. Mr. Sununu assured President Bush and his fellow conservatives that David Souter would be a "home run" for conservatism... (Read More)

Supreme Court comes down on side of children

This time the United States Supreme Court came down on the side of children in America. Tuesday, in a narrow 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court ruled that broadcasters who use indecent and vulgar language can be punished by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) even if the swear words used were not in the script. David Souter, whose resignation this coming summer was announced yesterday, of course sided with the 3 other liberals against America's children.

In writing for the majority, Justice Antonin Scalia said: "The commission could reasonably conclude that the pervasiveness of foul language, and the coarsening of public entertainment in other media such as cable, justify more stringent regulation of broadcast programs so as to give conscientious parents a relatively safe haven for their children." Justice Scalia was joined in the majority by Chief Justice John G. Roberts, and Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel A. Alito, Jr., and for most of the decision, Justice Anthony M. Kennedy... Senate needs to reject Judge David Hamilton

Barack Obama's first nominee to be on the federal circuit court of appeals, David Hamilton, who is appearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee this week, needs to be defeated. He was nominated to be a judge on the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Hamilton was given a "Not Qualified" rating by the liberal American Bar Association in 1994 when Bill Clinton nominated him to be a federal district judge. Hamilton is even more unqualified to be a federal appeals judge and Senators should vote no on his nomination.

Hamilton is a former ACLU board member whose voting record as a federal district judge mirrors that fact. Indeed, in 2005, when the ACLU brought a lawsuit before him, Hamilton ruled that the Indiana state legislature could not begin their sessions with Christian prayers. His decision, which was overruled by an appeals court, dictated that invocations could not use names such as Jesus Christ or "savior." He is too radical to be confirmed by the Senate"... (Read More)

Christian Coalition of America condemns Democrat-controlled House for passing "Thought Crimes" bill

Washington, D.C. - The Democrat-controlled House of Representatives passed the "Thought Crimes" bill or what it's sponsors call the "Hate Crimes" bill today which will result in homosexuals and transgenders being protected under a special class under the federal hate crimes law. Barack Obama has promised to sign this abominable bill into law if the Senate also passes it. It is truly a disgraceful way to celebrate the 100th day of the Barack Obama administration.

Christian Coalition of America (CCA) will be scoring today's House vote and the upcoming Senate vote in both the CCA Congressional Scorecard and in next year's CCA Voter Guides in congressional races next year. About 25 Democrats in Republican districts (which President George W. Bush and Senator John McCain won) voted for the "Thought Crimes" bill. Pastors have been thrown in jail because of similar laws in Sweden, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom just because they have preached the Bible on homosexuality... (Read More)

Stand up for Traditional Marriage!

On November 4th, the people spoke out on gay marriage.

Voters in California, Arizona and Florida added their voices to those in twenty seven other states by adding amendments to their state constitutions defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

But now, radical liberals and gay activists are working to overturn the will of the people - even attempting to get judges to rule the amendments unconstitutional. Others even want the new liberal majority in Congress to pass legislation revoking the federal Defense of Marriage Act.... (Read More)

American Values Survey

Given the changes in Washington, it is urgent that political leaders understand that America's Christian voters expect strong moral leadership in government. Leadership that respects and reflects our values - not attacks them at every opportunity.

That's why we're conducting a massive survey of America's politically active Christians - so we can show the politicians and the media exactly where we stand.

We're surveying hundreds of thousands of conservative Christians nationwide, and we want to make sure your voice is included... (Read More)
