IRS Chief Tells Price It's "Absolutely Not Illegal" for Agency to Target Americans

Congressman Tom Price, M.D., questioned outgoing Internal Revenue Service Commissioner Steve Miller during a House Committee on Ways and Means hearing today regarding recent revelations that the IRS specifically targeted conservative and religious groups for additional scrutiny. Responding to a question from Rep. Price, Miller announced that he does not consider the IRS's targeting of specific individuals and organizations to be illegal.

Earlier this week, Rep. Tom Price, M.D. introduced the Keep the IRS Off Your Health Care Act, which would prevent the Internal Revenue Service from enforcing President Obama's health care law... (READ MORE)

Speak Up for Religious Liberty

Several conservative members of the US House of Representatives have introduced new legislation that will protect Americans' First Amendment rights and put an end to the Obama Administration's assault on religious liberty.

It is called the Health Care Conscience Rights Act (HCCRA), and it would give full exemption from the Obamacare mandate to provide abortions and abortion related drugs in health care coverage, as well as protect individuals and health care entities that refuse to provide, pay for or refer patients to abortion providers because of their religious beliefs... Trying to Change the Subject

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann accused the Obama administration of orchestrating yet another information dump on a “Friday dump day” at the end of last week.  Indeed, this was one of their most clever Friday dumps yet.

Two days following shocking revelations about what is arguably the worst presidential (cover-up) scandal in American history, the BenghaziGate scandal  -- involving the dereliction of duty by the Obama administration regarding the September 11, 2012 Islamic terrorist attack on the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya and the preventable assassinations of Obama’s Ambassador to Libya, his fellow diplomat, and two Navy Seals  --   the Obama administration tried to change the subject to what has become another new Obama scandal... Committee Seeks More Details on Sebelius’ Efforts to Support “Enroll America,” Joins Request for GAO to Conduct an Investigation

House Energy and Commerce Committee leaders on Thursday continued their examination into reports that Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius may have solicited funding or assistance from the health care industry to help implement the health care law. According to The New York Times, an HHS spokesperson said Secretary Sebelius suggested health care executives and others to support the work of Enroll America, a private nonprofit group dedicated to assisting the implementation of the health care law.

In a letter to Enroll America, Chairman Fred Upton, Chairman Emeritus Joe Barton, Vice Chairman Marsha Blackburn, Health Subcommittee Chairman Joe Pitts, Oversight and Investigation Subcommittee Chairman Tim Murphy, and Vice Chairman of the Health and Oversight and Investigations Subcommittees Michael C. Burgess, M.D. wrote, “It is our understanding that Enroll America, a 501(c)(3) organization, announced its formation in September 2011 with the purpose of ensuring ‘that all Americans are enrolled in and retain health coverage.’  As many of the individuals and companies on Enroll America’s Board of Directors and Advisory Council are part of the health care industry, and will be subject to HHS regulation pursuant to PPACA, we have questions about HHS’ involvement in the work of Enroll America as it relates to the implementation of the PPACA”...
