Will Senator Ben Nelson Vote to Save America?
It is being reported, by almost all news media outlets, that the almost year-long debate on the make-or-break issue of the Obama presidency is actually coming down to the vote of one single Democrat Senator. Senator Ben Nelson from Nebraska has threatened to vote against the ObamaCare bill being considered in the Senate unless it has guarantees that Americans will not have to subsidize abortions as well as addressing other fiscal concerns he has with the bill.
The question of the decade, if not longer is, will Senator Ben Nelson provide the most important vote cast in the United States Congress in decades and vote to stop America from sliding into socialism? Will he become an American hero as his fellow Democrat, Congressman Bart Stupak from Michigan, did in the House of Representatives last month? The alternative for Senator Nelson -- from the most conservative state in the union, besides Utah -- is sure defeat when he runs for reelection in 2012.
Congressman Bart Stupak, through incredible strength of character, refused to cave-in to the tremendous pressures put on him by the leadership of the Democrats in the House of Representatives during the debate of ObamaCare last month. Congressman Stupak's pro-life amendment, preventing Americans from subsidizing abortions, passed overwhelmingly by a margin of 240 to 194 with 64 Democrats joining him along with every single Republican except for one who voted present... Religious Freedom Issue Comes to the Supreme Court
Should Christian clubs or oganizations be forced to accept non-Christian members? That's essentially the question that the US Supreme Court is about to take up.
And it's a question that the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals gave the wrong answer to recently... ruling that Christian clubs at universities could not be officially recognized by those schools unless they open up to non-Christian voting members - and even leaders.
Go figure... (Read More)

Be Sure to Contact Congress on the Health Care Bill
The Democrat leadership is pushing hard to have a vote on their proposed health care reforms as soon as possible. In fact, the Senate may vote in less than a week.
Don't let them be able to claim that they never heard from you on this issue. Please be sure to let them know how you feel.

Elementary Students Told Jesus and Bibles Not Welcome
A 3rd grade student in New Jersey was recently admonished by her teacher for reading her Bible during class quiet time. The teacher told the girl that the Bible was not "appropriate reading material" and ordered her to put it away. The girl then put it in her desk, but the teacher told her she had to put it "in her backpack", (to take it back home).
And, if that weren't bad enough, when the girls mother found out about it, she went to the teacher to complain and, getting no where), went to the school's principal - who backed up the teacher in saying that was "school policy".
The mother finally found someone with some sense when she went to the school district, where she was told the school was wrong and it's fine for her child to bring (and read) the Bible at school. (The mother wants something in writing...and who can blame her).
And from Massachusetts we have a similar issue... (Read More)

Democrats Keep Adding TRILLIONS to Deficit
The Democrats gave yet another unwanted Christmas present to America's future generations this past weekend as they voted for a monstrous pork-filled Omnibus spending bill (omnibus or consolidated because the Democrats could not get their work done this year by passing the required 12 separate spending bills to keep the government functioning.)
Incredibly, 3 Republicans joined virtually all the Democrats in voting for this $1.1 TRILLION bill loaded with thousands of pork-projects glommed on to the legislation. The three Republican Senators who voted for this irresponsible spending bill were Susan Collins from Maine; Thad Cochran and Richard Shelby (up for reelection next year) from the very conservative states of Mississippi and Alabama respectively. If these three Republican Senators had voted no on the "breaking the Republican filibuster vote," the Democrats would not have been able to even vote on this abominable bill.
The $1.1 trillion bill is now part of the Democrats' whopping $3.6 trillion annual budget for Fiscal Year 2010 and the president is expected to sign it into law. The Democrats, contrary to their promises (and the president's campaign promises), increased federal spending by a crushing 12%, by far, the largest increase in many years... (Read More)
