Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said he'll delay confirmation of President Barack Obama's nominees to head up the Pentagon and the CIA.

The leading Republican senator vowed to hold up confirmation of former Sen. Chuck Hagel for defense secretary and chief counterterrorism advisor John Brennan as CIA director until the White House provides more information about the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

The Sept. 11 attack left four Americans dead, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stephens.

"I don't think we should allow Brennan to go forward for the CIA directorship [or] Hagel to be confirmed as secretary of defense until the White House gives us an accounting," Graham told CBS News' "Face the Nation."

Graham accuses the administration of "stonewalling" requests about the attack and wants the president to provide more information on his decisions that night.

Sen. Jack Reed, D-R.I., blasted Graham's decision to delay confirmation of the nominees. But Graham has promised to get to the bottom of the attack at Benghazi.
