The 110th Congress is noted for what it has not accomplished. In fact, it has been so unsuccessful in attending to the business of the American people, that it has a record-low 12% approval rating. However, just weeks before the November election, two Senators on the opposite ends of the political spectrum worked together and got a wonderful bill passed on Tuesday.

Senators Sam Brownback (R-KS) and Edward M. Kennedy (D-MA,) who is inflicted with a brain tumor, celebrated Senate passage of the "Prenatally and Postnatally Diagnosed Conditions Awareness Act." The Kennedy/Brownback legislation would require that families who receive a diagnosis of Down syndrome or any other condition, pre-natally or up until a year after birth, be given up-to-date information...

American clergy have been bullied by left-wing groups for over 50 years since Senator Lyndon Baines Johnson passed his amendment in 1954 to silence America's clergy about candidates from their pulpits, mainly to get even with his political foes and to gain an advantage in his election. Congress Sends Bipartisan Adoption Bill to President Bush for His Signature

Yesterday, the United States Senate unanimously passed an outstanding bipartisan adoption bill called the "Fostering Connections to Success and Increasing Adoptions Act of 2008" and sent the bill to President George W. Bush for his signature. The bill passed in the United States House of Representatives on September 17th.

The National Council For Adoption (NCFA) worked hard to pass this bill which will result in increasing adoptions in America. The President and Chief Executive Officer of the NCFA, Tom Atwood, said: "This is the most significant legislation relating to adoption and foster care since the Adoption and Safe Families Act of 1997. It provides for a wide array of reforms to benefit children and their interest in adoption...."

Because parents all around America are finally waking up as to the trash that is called prime-time-television on CBS, NBC, ABC, etc. and are actually doing something about it -- such as writing to complain to advertisers -- Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) reprimanded its advertising agency for buying commercial time on a program which was not family-friendly. The show which caused many parents, and indeed, KFC local managers, to complain is the television show called 90210.

According to the Parents Television Council (PTC,) many of the owners of local KFC franchises and the managers which work for them were outraged that their company would sponsor such a show. Congressman Walter Jones, a Republican from North Carolina, has done a wonderful job promoting legislation enabling America's clergy to talk about whatever issue they want from their pulpits. One of his bills during the last Congress was called the Houses of Worship Free Speech Restoration Act which actually received around 175 votes during the 108th Congress.

Congressman Jones' legislation was and is necessary because liberal groups have been trying to muzzle our ministers, priests and rabbis from speaking out on any issue they want and from talking about the positions on issues taken by political candidates and incumbents. What these liberal groups are trying to accomplish is clearly unconstitutional and against the First Amendment rights of America's...

Greed and gross negligence on Wall Street and political pandering in the United States Congress led to the financial crisis which America is experiencing right now. This is of course not to let off the hook those who built McMansions they could not afford nor those who should not have bought homes in the first place because they did not have the financial resources to afford a home.
