The leader of the Republicans in the United States Senate, Senator Mitch McConnell from Kentucky, is to be commended for doing what he can do stop the socialization of medicine in the United States of America. Today, he introduced the Kids First Act, which also has as its original co-sponsors: Senators Jim DeMint (S.C.), Robert Bennett (UT) and John Barrasso (WY.) Senator McConnell said on the Senate floor today that the Kids First Act -- an alternative to the hugely expensive Democrat bill, which is an expansion of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) -- puts low income children first.

Regarding the Democrats' SCHIP bill, Senator McConnell said: "It's grossly unfair that a family in Kentucky making $40,000 must pay for the health insurance of a family...

Barack Obama signs Executive Order abolishing President Ronald Reagan's Mexico City Policy which prohibited international groups  -  such as the infamous Planned Parenthood International  -  which do abortions or promote abortions, from receiving American taxpayers' money.

Late last Friday, was the new president hiding from Americans the fact that more unborn babies will die because he decided to do away with President Ronald Reagan's Mexico City Policy since the White House released a press release late on Friday night?  Not many newspaper readers or television viewers notice news items on Saturday mornings.

Barack Obama signed an executive order -- with no fanfare after newspaper and television network deadlines had passed -- to do away with the Mexico...

Journalist Bernard Goldberg has a just-released book, sure to be a best-seller, called "A Slobbering Love Affair: The True (And Pathetic) Story of the Torrid Romance Between Barack Obama and the Mainstream Media." The title of the book speaks for itself.

Along the same theme, talk show host Sean Hannity says that 2008 is the year in which journalism died in America. Had journalism schools, such as the Columbia University Journalism School, shed just a few handfuls of left-wing professors, and replaced them with a few "fair and balanced" professors, Bernard Goldberg and Sean Hannity would not have such a strong case.

MSNBC Chris Matthews, former Democrat political operative, has experienced tingling sensations running up and down his leg when he thinks about Barack...

Tonight, the United States Senate confirmed Timonty Geithner as Secretary of the Treasury -- the 3rd most important member of the President's cabinet -- an individual who did not pay Social Security and Medicare taxes during the time he worked at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in 2001, 2002, and 2003. Yet, he will be responsible for the agency, the Internal Revenue Service, which collects delinquent taxes from other Americans. The Republicans refused to stop his nomination which they could have done if they were united.

Senator Jeff Sessions said before voting no to Geithner's nomination, "The man who wants to be the top tax collector in America hasn't paid his taxes." On the other hand, before the vote, uberpartisan Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called...

Barack Obama's Treasury Secretary nominee, Timothy Geithner  --  who did not pay his Social Security and Medicare taxes in 2001-2003  --  is confirmed by Democrat-controlled United States Senate

On Monday, the United States Senate confirmed Timonty Geithner as Secretary of the Treasury -- the 3rd most important member of the President's cabinet -- an individual who did not pay Social Security and Medicare taxes during the time he worked at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in 2001, 2002, and 2003. Yet, he will be responsible for the agency, the Internal Revenue Service, which collects delinquent taxes from other Americans.

Senator Jeff Sessions from Alabama said before voting no to Geithner's nomination, "The man who wants to be the top tax...

Obama is moving quickly to make his pro-abortion supporters happy.  First, there was the change at the official whitehouse.gov site (within one minute of his inauguration) promoting support for Roe vs. Wade.  Now this.  From CBN:

President Barack Obama plans to sign an executive order ending the ban on federal funds for international groups that promote or perform abortions, officials told The Associated Press on Friday.

The move, long expected in the Democratic president's first week in office, will be welcomed by liberals and criticized by abortion rights foes.

The policy bans U.S. taxpayer money, usually in the form of U.S. Agency for International Development funds, from...

It seem that the euthanasia crowd is working to promote an alternative to doctor "assisted" suicide...as in, doctor "referred" suicide".  Meaning that they get the government to order doctors to tell patients that they have the option of killing themselves, and "here's a list of groups that will show you how".

Via Lifenews

As a method of getting states to promote suicide without legalizing the practice of assisted suicide, euthanasia backers are relying on legislation that forces doctors to promote suicide as an option. The bills also make it so pro-euthanasia groups are given referral status to talk with patients.

California...

Barack Obama can open his presidential campaign in Springfield, Illinois as Abraham Lincoln did. He can take the same railroad route as Abraham Lincoln did during Lincoln's final leg of his journey from Springfield to Washington D.C. for his inauguration. He can dine on replicas of Abraham Lincoln's White House china during the traditional congressional luncheon after his inaugural address. During his oath of office, he can even use the same Bible which was used by Abraham Lincoln in his first inaugural in 1861.

But, Barack Obama is no Abraham Lincoln!

Ironically, Obama is not paying homage to any former Democrat president, not even the Kennedy of Camelot fame, but instead, is emulating the greatest Republican president in American history.

How shall we...
