Why not forget about the election
Having read through many of the forum topics on this website it appears as very odd to me that there seems to be a preoccupation about the recent presidential election. As the Christian Coalition surely there should be greater troubles then who is putting their Presidential feet on a Presidential sofa in the Oval Office.
I clicked on the link to discussions about the media in the hope of finding some support regarding the degradation of content in the world's media today. America, and indeed Britain and the rest of the world, has its newspapers, adverts, radio broadcasts and tv programmes filled with lewd imagery or themes. Surely it matters not whether a Republican or Democrat is in the White House, it matters not whether Obama has ever said yes to abortion or not. What really should matter for a group with such strong believers is that there is a crackdown on such practices. Do we want future generations to grow up in an even more Godless society then we have? Do we want their minds to be covered with filth? Instead the topics are about the 'unequal' coverage of the election campaign. Is this right?
So lets put the election aside if we can. It's over and Obama won so stop worrying about it. It is often said that you must make the most of a bad situation. If you believe that the election of Obama is a bad thing then make the most of it. Lets forget about the election and move on so that the Christian Coalition doesn;t get bogged down in partisanship and instead rises above the rest to strike at the real evils of our world. By showing, what can described as, dislike and even hatred for the new President and the loss of McCain you are making yourselves weaker to those who would gladly rip apart the rich fabric of Christian communities. My home-grown idea of what a Christian should be like, gleaned from study of the Biblte, is that there should be no hate like that expressed in various forum topics.

Debate will always exist about the outcome of any election and particularly so when the individuals involved have questionable history in terms of the people with whom they were associated and to the extent and manner in which their civic responsibilities were conducted. The election of individuals with a negative record, morally or socially, is very revealing in terms of the condition of our society and the obvious ambivilance toward the candidates credentials. It strikes me that most voters today opt in favor of party or personality and not much principle. Further, that Christain considerations are seldom given much weight and in fact, in this secular society, it can and does have an adverse impact in many ways. Case in point, Sara Palin. Hence, many candidates are loathe to discuss Christian beliefs because they do not want it to become a rallying point for the gay agenda, agnostics, atheists, and ultra left wing liberals who seek to discredit and disavow anything that convicts them. It is at that juncture that you can now move into the media picture and understand why the liberal press, TV and Newspaper, support these activists because it is all about drawing attention to themselves and the money game that follows. The more outlandish, the more audacious, the more salacious the better it sells and God; well He is just in the way. For the longest time, these people were in the minority and not much heed was paid them. Now it appears that they are gaining the upper hand and why not. They have infected our schools with their insidous immorality and the evidence of that has now manifested itself in our young adults and who can blame them. "The teacher told me it was OK to think that way and act out my feelings". "There is no God or they would have prayer or not refuse to post the 10 commandments". "Everything exists due to evolution, not creationism". The newpaper said it was so. MTV says it is OK. Rap music says its fine and after all Papa, church bishops are homosexuals voted into place by their own parishioners so the word of God must not really be true after all. I mean why shouldn't I vote for an avowed supporter of abortion. I got over the sitcker shock with my favorite educator. Better yet, look at the churchs today. What do they teach...God's will for me is to feel good. Give me money and I will tell you anything you want to hear. Mealy mouthed religion. Jesus would spit these people out of his mouth. You can't change it my British friend. It is too late and the post election venom is manifested in anger and disbelief that a Christian nation could be so totally hoodwinked by the son of the morning star while all of us so called "do gooders" sat back on our collective duffs and complaciantly let it happen. Shame on us. We've eaten our own children.
