McCain-Palin Our Salvation
October 4, 2008 - 12:05pm — Reglow
As true believers we must all rally around the only choice for our salvation as Christians, The liberal democrats will change the way we all live and worship. Their godlessness and disrespect will cause our wonderful nation to succumb to the ways of evil. I implore all of you to please vote for the our saviors John McCain and Sarah Palin

I found the previous comment to be enlightening and correct. When you seek to label yourself a Christian nation, the world looks at everything you do in that light. Even members of my family (who know better) love to say proudly, "America was founded on Christian values and it IS a Christian nation." This is mixed in with a blind patriotism, blind in that we can't see past our own noses. I hope that one day many of you will learn the truth about American foreign policy and business. If only you had a glimpse of the horrors induced by the American way, you would think twice about making that statement. No one ever talks about how we picked every single leader of Iraq and Iran for the last 60 years. No one ever talks about how we murdered 200,000 children in Iraq, because of an embargo on medications. Perhaps my comment will be deleted, because I mention that Dick Chaney and Donald Rumsfeld were both CEOs of military contracting firms. We never talk about how our conservative administration opened up Iraq to foreign firms, killing Iraqi industry while we made tons of money. We never talk about how we use world orgs like the WTO, world bank, IMF, and NAFTA to greedily profit (when the whole purpose of these orgs is to level the playing field and help third world countries). What about American corporations and the American lifestyle? For us to live the way we do, many parts of the rest of the world have to do without.... food, water, and the bare necessities. Doesn't sound Christian to me, what do you think?
The post before was right, America is in no way liberal. Obama is a centrist. But Godless liberals, eh? I'm so liberal the Democratic party doesn't even cover it, so I must be Satan himself right? Well let's see. I'm a premed student at UGA studying for degrees cell bio and anthropology. (I'm from UGA... not an edu elite.) I want to go to med school so that I can either work abroad in 3rd world countries or start a nonprofit clinic in my small, rural southern town. I spend most of my week volunteering in places like homeless shelters, attending club meetings that address genocide, world poverty, and healthcare issues here and abroad, mentoring impoverished kids, and volunteering at the hospital. And I'm active in my Baptist church. Here's the kicker, almost 90% of the Christians I come into contact on campus, in homeless shelters, and in philanthropic orgs (who are actually Christians, not just pew Chrsitians), feel the same way about things as I do. Shocking isn't it and a little scary for you conservatives? Losing your base... No, listen. it's not Godless to try to fight the cycle of poverty or genocide or prevent drug dealers from getting AKs. It's the opposite. When I look at the conservative Christian base this is what I see. People who talk about showing God's love, but then vote to protect their giant SUVs and extravagant lifestyles. I see folks who instead of getting their hands dirty and witnessing through works, just write a check. As if God's blessing will fall upon you when you have barely made any sacrifice in his name? I see a disconcern for the well being of fellow Christians as well as the lost. I se ppl trying to save souls for their own glorification instead of actually caring about the person in front of them. The lost see through the self righteousness and insincerity. They look at these political movements and ask why you don't care enough to take a bit out of the 20% poverty rate among children if you care so much about the "right to life?" Delete this if you will, but it's time you hear the other side.
I have studied the recent American Election from 'across the pond' in probably an objective, rather than subjective, way. This objectivism stems from my nationality as i can detach miself from local opinions and instead just look at the pure facts.
Though i am Christian as you state yourselves to be, i see no reason for Christians in America to see Obama as part of the godless and disrespectful liberal democrats. In fact there is no such thing as godless and disrespectful liberal democrats in America because there is no such thing as a liberal democrat in America. By the world's standards your idea of liberal is mildly conservative, a position which is completly different from the supposed liberal position you talk about.
In my most humble opinion it is a good thing that Obama has won the election. Maybe with him as President there can finally come an end to the godless conditions in Guantanimo Bay and the godless killings by the western world's troops in Iraq and Afganistan.
I look forward to reading any comments which may stem from my comment.
God bless you all

This election is up to us. If you want John McCain to be President, go to www.johnmccain.com and sign up to make 10 phone calls to voters in battleground states. Tell everyone you know to do the same.
I am a McCain and Palin supporter, however I am afraid if the election was today Obama would win. I believe it will take a miracle (could happen) for McCain to win. A whole lot of Americans are looking at the economic problems as the most important issue and they are blaming President Bush's administration for the problem thus the Republicans are to blame. Sad to say but a lot of the Americans that feel this way are Christians. I believe that is the reason Obama is ahead in the polls. I have been praying that Senator McCain and Governor Palin would stop with the mud slinging and start addressing the issue of the economy. Explain their plan in more detail for the recovery of the economy, this would go a long way with the above mentioned Americans. I do agree with you that Christians should vote for McCain/Palin and I advise to pray without ceasing.
