Israel Faces its Most Hostile U.S. President

"The Wall Street Journal" had as its headline this morning: "Israel's Isolation Deepens."  Is it any wonder when the president and his administration have taken each and every opportunity to raise up the Palestinian cause at the expense of our greatest ally in the Middle East.  The "Journal" reported this morning that Israeli officials believe that the Obama administration's public criticism of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government "has been seen as a green light by some European nations to press Israel further."

What happened off of Gaza last Monday was an intentional provocation by a pack of radical Palestinians and their supporters on a flotilla of six ships including a U.S. passenger ship, the Challenger I, a ship probably filled with aging over-the-hill anti-Vietnam War protestors and other such leftists desperately seeking attention.

The defense now offered by these 700 or so Turkish, Palestinian and other terrorists and terrorist supporters in the Gaza-bound flotilla off of Gaza's shores, is that they were trying to bring humanitarian supplies to the destitute in the Gaza Strip.  However, Israel has frequently offered to bring any humanitarian supplies to those who need such aid in the Gaza Strip, after the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) has an opportunity to board the ships to make sure there are no weapons on their way to Gaza.

The only reason why the Obama administration has not matched its usual venomous attacks against Israel and the attacks of countless numbers of other nations in this latest Israeli-Palestinian incident is that it has its eyes on the critical November election.  White House political operatives are desperate not to lose any Jewish votes in the Republican tsunami expected in the congressional elections.

After a torrent of hysterical criticism from all over the world, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel faces a biased rush to judgment.  The prime minister said that "We have every right to defend our country" and that the ship held violent supporters of terrorism.  Referring to the Turkish-owned ship where most of the terrorist action took place against the Israeli soldiers who were boarding the Mavi Marmara to check for weapons in its cargo, Prime Minister Netanyahu said:  "This was not the Love Boat, it was the Hate boat."

The IDF has released a new video which shows that the Israeli soldiers who boarded the Mavi Marmara  --  which was attempting to break Israel's blockade  --  were attacked first by the Palestinians, etc.  One Israeli soldier was thrown overboard by these radical provocateurs.  The Israeli forces were of course justified to respond with violent force after being violently attacked by the Palestinian terrorists and their supporters on board with sticks, clubs and knives.

The always inept and corrupt United Nations, rushed in to condemn Israel's self-defensive actions.  Likewise, the international media  --  including most of the left-wing media outlets in the United States  --  attacked Israel and defended these mostly Islamic terrorists and their fanatical supporters attempting to break Israel's blockade.

What a shame that the current administration does not stand up for Israel in the United Nations as have most of our past presidents from both political parties.  Undoubtedly, the president will suffer in this year's elections and in the 2012 presidential race as a result.
