RPC Chairman Price Statement on April Jobs Report
Washington, D.C. – House Republican Policy Committee Chairman Tom Price, M.D. (R-GA) issued the following statement regarding the April employment report.
“Just last week marked the third year since the Democrat-led Senate advanced a budget – a blueprint on how to get this nation’s fiscal house in order and lift the burden of debt and government interference that hinders economic growth and job creation. Without a responsible plan to bring down the debt and alleviate the uncertainty in our economy, employment and growth will continue to disappoint,” said Chairman Price. “We cannot expect American entrepreneurs and small businesses to hire and grow at a more robust pace so long as Washington is ignoring the threat of our national debt and the burden of regulations and onerous tax requirements. This is why we began this session of Congress by repealing the president’s health care law which is the prime example of Washington standing in the way of job creation. It is why House Republicans have acted time and again to provide relief for small businesses and American families and get government out of the way. And it is why House Republicans have for two years passed a budget that addresses our greatest challenges head on and in a responsible manner. Ours is a plan that would help realize the nation’s potential for growth and greater opportunity through policies that believe in the power of the American people and not the power of government.”
