Mitch McConnell's Statement on the Economy and Small Business
It seems that the Democrats refuse to take no from the American people as expressed through a number of no votes by the Republicans in the United States Senate. So when the Senators get back from their 5 week plus vacation a week after Labor Day, the Senate Majority Leader -- who will likely lose not only his majority leader position in the Senate, but his Nevada seat itself -- will insist on yet another bound-to-fail "stimulus" bill. Here is hoping that the Republicans remain united and firm, yet again, and defeat this boondoggle of a bill. Note this email from the Republican Leader of the Senate, Senator Mitch McConnell from Kentucky, regarding what the Democrats have done to the American economy.

(Editors Note: The first legislative vote when the Senate returns will be a cloture vote on the Johanns, R-Neb, amendment to the small business bill; The vote is scheduled for 11 a.m. on September 14; Democrats are expected to block that amendment)
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell made the following statement Monday regarding the President’s remarks on the economy:
“Instead of growing jobs as promised, Washington Democrats have grown the size of the national debt, the federal government and the unemployment rate. And now the administration is calling for a massive tax hike on small businesses in the middle of a recession. So it’s no surprise that most Americans think the country is on the wrong track and that Democrat policies have failed to do anything to fix their top concern, the economy. It’s time to listen to the American people, lower the deficit by reducing out-of-control spending, prevent tax hikes and work with Republicans to create the environment necessary to grow sustainable, private sector jobs.”
