Traditional marriage supporter assualted in California

As mentioned previously, the folks supporting passage of the state marriage amendment in California, (proposition 8), which would define marriage as one man and one woman, have gained a good bit of momentum and support in the past several weeks...and their opposition has actually been helpful.

Well now we see some in the pro gay-marriage crowd are actually turning violent as they get desperate.  From OneNewsNow:

A Proposition 8 volunteer in California was recently assaulted, evidently because he supports the proposed state constitutional amendment defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

The victim, Jose Nunez, was preparing to place Prop. 8 lawn signs when the attack happened. Chip White, a spokesman for the "Yes on 8" campaign, explains what happened.
"The attacker grabbed about 75 signs, [then] yelled at Mr. Nunez [asking] 'what do you have against gays?' And Mr. Nunez replied that he had nothing against gays -- but he was attacked anyway." ...

"[The attack] caused Mr. Nunez to suffer a bloody eye, serious wounds to his face, and a scratch to his knee," says White. "He was rushed by ambulance to a local hospital where he received 16 stitches."
Police are investigating the incident. White considers the attack a reflection on those who oppose Proposition 8, which would nullify a state Supreme Court decision giving homosexuals the right to "marry."
"It's outrageous that the 'No [on 8'] campaign calls themselves the voice of tolerance and moderation and wants people to feel bad for supporting traditional marriage, because there is nothing tolerant or moderate about beating up Jose,"...

So much for "tolerance", huh?  Actually, their brand of tolerance requires that you accept their point of view...and shut up.  Else you're a bigotted homophobe, Nazi, etc., etc...

Exit question: What do you suppose the reaction (and the national coverage) would have been had this been the other way around and an opponent of the amendment had been attacked while putting up yard signs?

Once again, a vocal minority attempts to thwart the will of the majority. The homosexual agenda is not a peace march as some would have us believe. They are a militant and loud group.

I challenge all who feel statements about who some one is - is
more important than being there in Jesus stead, non-confrontational,
and praying so the Holy Spirit can do his job.  Or don't we trust that concept?  It's not,  pardon my clique word "CORPORATE" to do so?

FEAR (the Spirit there of) ruled the election mentality and I can see the "SPIRIT" of fear has deeply rooted itself into the Christian Community.

we can not see these battles as not flesh but spiritual, then we need
to get back in the word with a very open mind so God through His Son
Jesus Christ can re baptize us with His Holy Spirit. reempowering us to
walk, not after the flesh ( and what it see's ) but after the Spirit
and in that realm where we will know, without fear or doubt, that no
matter what we see in the flesh, more be for us than be against us.

we breaking through walls built by the devil? or are we helping to
build them higher so he can lay claim to people Jesus Christ died for
who are either oppressed or possessed by spirits straight from hell.

Are we in a Later Generation Corinthian Chrisis?

1 Corinth.
Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were  wise in the world’s eyes, or powerful, or wealthy when God called you. Instead, God deliberately chose things the
world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose those who are powerless to shame those who are powerful.

God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important, so that no one can ever boast in the presence of God.

The apostle Paul knew this very well.

He knew the world was confused as to why God chose to do things the way He did. He knew they were amazed at the message these early Christians were bringing. Paul knew he had to stick to the power of the cross and not get distracted.

People wanted to focus on the miracles and the gifts, but Paul remained steadfast, will you?  Will you carry His cross to these people He loves and use your gifts to expell the spirits that bind them?

1 Corinth.
For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with eloquent wisdom lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.
