Say a lie enough times and others will repeat it.

The title is playing with the saying "repeat a lie enough times and others will believe it." Many times these repeated lies are based on fallacies, which until they start to be repeated are ignored. These lies do not solve problems - it is often not clear when they are lies that will vanish because of how foolish they are or if they need a response.

Some of these lies which I am thinking about in this post fall into a group, which belong to a group called stereo typing. They are nonsense so they are dismissed the first time around - but become hideous when picked up by those who fail to see the fallacy - those who are tricked by the deception.

Take for example "It is racist to not support universal health care." The statement is hideous in multiple ways.

It is apparent that the statement is intended to put a chill on those who don't support universal health care. Christians do not want to be seen as racist, or seen as stereo typing a population. The intent of the statement is to silence people by raising the level of the rhetoric to a level of verbal violence. I for one take Jesus at his word that if you hate your brother without cause you have committed murder in your heart (Matthew 5:22).

Ironically, "It is racist to not support universal health care," is stereo typing a population - It strongly suggests a race of people desire universal health care over other forms of health care. Universal health care is the politically correct way to say nationalized health care, there is one provider the state. ... Do they understand the long term consequences if they win using such an argument.

Three examples from class warfare: "The poor do not want to work," or "The poor do not want to better themselves," and "The rich only care about money."

Again these statements are stereo types - all three are hateful and harmful to ending poverty. The one many may not understand is how disdain of wealthy harmful to the poor - It is very rare that somebody becomes something they hate. I've only seen poor people who start to believe being rich means one is greedy become wealthy be accident - in those cases this quote comes to mind, "Nearly all men can stand the test of adversity, but if you really want to test a man's character, give him power." -- Abraham Lincoln.

Money is not as important to people when they have it. Most people when free not to think about money do is not think about money. "The rich only care about money." is nothing but harmful hate.

"The poor do not want to work," statement is absurd - A person is not considered unemployed if they are not looking for work. If there is any group of people who are not looking for work it would be the wealthy - but reality is the wealthy are wealthy because they are always working.

"The poor do not want to better themselves," If there were any truth to this statement people would be content to suffer. Not all people are interested in money for example Mother Teresa, but even she bettered herself. Show me somebody who does not want to better themselves and I'll show you somebody who has no hope -
