Being an Indian and staying in a place where Hinduism is the prevalent religion followed by Islamicity, and being of a Bengali background, it was only when I was 4 years old that I leared my first ever English prayer. Wanted to spell out how that started, though I am sure most of us know it already.

"Oh God,

Help me To be a good child

All the Night, all Day,

Help me

To keep me pure

And forgive my sins

And keep me gay"

This was in my first ever school - Tiny Tods, an English-medium school in my tiny hometown.

The days are so far back in the past, but I still love them. I used to lead my school for prayers, and there was one that I really loved. I shall talk about it on another day.
