Media-gurus are wrong: It's a Perry vs. Romney AND a Perry vs. Bachmann race
Charles Krauthammer is right. It indeed is going to be a President Perry or a President Bachmann or a President Romney or a reelected Obama in January 2013. Most of the television political gurus, including Krauthammer, think it is going to be either Rick Perry or Michele Bachmann fighting it out in "Round One" for the social conservative/Tea Party vote and the right to face Mitt Romney in "Round Two." Wrong!
Unfortunately, Krauthammer from his East coast perch -- like many of the East Coast establishment media elite -- disparages the state of Texas (which represents fly-over country,) as he did in his analysis about Governor Perry in Bret Baier's Fox News show tonight. Krauthammer conveniently forgets about Perry's tremendous economic record as governor. He used the liberal media talking points about the American people supposedly not wanting another Texan so soon after the liberals' hated president, George W. Bush.
Krauthammer elaborated further on Rick Perry's supposed weak points such as the fact that he is an 100% Texan -- indeed, Perry is a 6th generation Texan -- whereas the hated George W. Bush was at least part Texan and part East-coast. Bush's father was president and grew up in Connecticut and his grandfather was a United States Senator representing Connecticut.
Perry's highly successful economic record -- Texas, under Perry's governorship created 30% of all jobs in America -- makes him highly qualified to fight for the same voters businessman Mitt Romney is pursuing. Texas' job growth was twice the national average since 2009.
On the other hand, Governor Perry is a legitimate Reagan social conservative who is wooing the same voters for whom Congresswoman Bachmann is fighting. Even the liberal "Time" magazine in its August 22, 2011 issue wrote about the "more than 30,000 Evangelicals" in the Houston crowd where Perry was "speaking about his faith in God" at the prayer event he began organizing over a year ago.
So, contrary to the talking points from liberal media establishment, there will be no round one and round two in the Republican primaries. Even left-wing Democrat analyst Mary Anne Marsh on Bill O'Reilly's show tonight said that Rick Perry has both Mitt Romney and Michele Bachmann in his sights. Rick Perry is the guy everyone needs to fear right now and he has everything that is needed to win this nomination." As Carl Cameron said on Fox News tonight, "Perry wants to cast himself as the comprehensive conservative" who can legitimately fight Bachmann in Iowa for the social conservative vote and Romney in New Hampshire for the fiscal conservative vote.
The real question the media gurus should be asking is, "Which of Perry's two main opponents will drop out first: Romney or Bachmann?"

Governor Perry is the only fully qualified republican candidate to date. He has done a commendable job as Governor evidenced by being elected into that position three times. With his tenure as governor he has gained more experience necessary to lead this nation than any other candidate. The fact that Mitt Romney is a Mormon raises a serious red flag disqualifying him for the presidency. If he can be deceived about life's most important truths - God's truths. How much more might he be deceived about sound policy making decisions? Michelle Bachman, in all her brilliance, bless her heart, is still a woman which disqualifies her to be a leader of men. All of these are scriptural issues which are paramount to any human reasoning and if you don't believe that then you too are disqualified to lead this nation which has become an Obama-nation.
