Lynch mob goes after Joe Wilson
This is a story of two Joe Wilsons and the utter hypocrisy of the left-wing fringe which now owns the Democrat Party, lock, stock and barrel. The United States House of Representatives, led by San Francisco ultra-liberal Nancy Pelosi, voted a resolution of disapproval against Congressman Joe Wilson, Republican from South Carolina, because he shouted to Obama -- during his superfluous health care speech last week -- "You lie!"
The resolution of disapproval passed last evening in the House by a margin of 240 to 179 with 7 Republicans voting for and15 Democrats voting against the resolution. Yet, this politically partisan vote occurred after Congressman Wilson apologized to the president and Obama accepted his apology and after Pelosi said we need to put this evemt behind us and concentrate on more important things, such as passing Obama's socialized medicine plan. But her fellow left-wingers demanded a vote and she caved-in to the pressure.
The story about the other Joe Wilson exposes the utter hypocrisy of the large majority of Democrats in the House of Representatives. During the latter years of President George W. Bush's administration, many of these same Democrats who voted for the disapproval resolution against Congressman Wilson yesterday, attacked Bush administration officials for supposedly revealing the identity of the wife of a State Department low-level apparatchik, Joe Wilson, as a CIA agent.
Most of the insiders on the left-wing cocktail circuit in Washington D.C. knew that his wife, Valeria Plame, used to be a CIA agent, but was currently just another bureaucrat in the CIA establishment. Yet, that Joe Wilson and his wife carried on a multi-year campaign of hatred against the Bush administration which was aided and abetted by their friends in the left-wing "Old Media."
Other examples of Democrat hypocrisy include the fact that there was no punishment on the floor of the House of Representatives regarding Nancy Pelosi's lies about the CIA and American intelligence agencies. She falsely claimed that they lied to her and to Congress. However Pelosi refused to apologize as Congressman Wilson apologized to Obama. There wasn't a peep from the House Democrats who voted against Congressman Wilson last night regarding Pelosi's breach of House etiquette.
Democrat Pete Stark called Bush a liar at least once on the House of Representatives floor and to this day he is proud of it. There wasn't a peep from the Democrats regarding this breach of House etiquette. During at least one of President Bush's State of the Union speeches, there were boos from some of the Democrats, and they could be identified. Yet, there was no reprimand, much less a resolution of disapproval, against these Democrat congressmen.
What the Democrats need to do -- as Nancy Pelosi originally suggested before succumbing to left-wing pressure to hold a disapproval resolution vote -- is to listen to the outrage of the American people this past summer and pass a bipartisan commonsense health care reform bill.
