Liberal attack on unborn babies continues in U.S. Senate

Last Thursday, Colorado Senator Wayne Allard introduced an amendment in the United States Senate to the bloated, pork-filled, and tax-increasing Democrat 2009 Budget Bill which would fund health care coverage for unborn babies from the "moment of conception." Every Republican voted for the Allard amendment except for 4 liberals, but only two Democrats voted with the Republicans for the Allard Amendment. Liberals in Congress want American taxpayers to fund health care for every single American, but not for unborn babies.

During the same day last week, liberals in the Senate refused to pass an amendment to the 2009 budget bill sponsored by Nevada Senator John Ensign which would provide funding for the Justice Department to vigorously enforce a prohibition against taking minors across State lines in circumvention of laws requiring the involvement of parents in abortion decisions consistent with the Child Custody Protection Act, which passed the U.S. Senate with a bipartisan vote of 65-34. The vote on the Ensign amendment was 49 to 49, thus failing to pass.

Unfortunately, the Democrat Party is continuing to support the culture of death in this country including both of its remaining presidential candidates who voted against the Allard and Ensign amendments. There is indeed a huge difference between the two major political parties with respect to the value of human life and the votes on these two amendments have provided further evidence of this fact. It is one of the most important reasons for voters to cast their votes wisely this November.
