The effectiveness of unborn victims of violence laws
In an era when many pro-lifers are discouraged that the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision is never going to be overturned -- especially since a new pro-abortion president is expected to appoint pro-abortion justices to the United States Supreme Court -- pro-lifers can still be encouraged that the laws they help pass at the federal level and in state legislatures can make a difference in saving the lives of thousands of innocent unborn children.
Just think of the difference even one life can make. Pam Tebow, the mother of Tim Tebow, the Heisman Trophy winner last year, who is the quarterback from the University of Florida and the first sophomore ever to win the trophy, was encouraged by physicians to abort her son, but she refused to do so. All five of the Tebow children were homeschooled including during the time the Tebows lived for a number of years as missionaries in the Phillipines where Tim's father, Bob Tebow, still has an ongoing ministry.
Keeping in mind the example of the great difference to this world that Tim Tebow is making, who knows what the unborn baby recently killed in the Las Vegas, Nevada area could have done with his/her life. William John Keck will be charged with the murder of his pregnant wife's unborn child; the mother lived after the assault on her life. Prior to pro-lifers passing a law in Nevada -- making it an additional crime to kill a pregnant woman's unborn child -- criminals got off totally free from any charges involving the deaths or injuries of unborn children in commission of their crimes.
District Attorney David Roger in Las Vegas, Nevada will be charging Keck with killing the unborn child under the unborn victims law. LifeNews.com has reported that "currently 35 states have such a law on the books and 25 of them offer protection and justice for women and their unborn children throughout pregnancy. Nevada is one of the 10 that only offer that protection after the unborn baby reaches the point of viability and Nev. Rev. Stat. § 200.210, approved in 1997, calls the killing of an 'unborn quick child' manslaughter."
Who knows how many potential criminals have thought twice about assaulting pregnant women knowing the consequences of being charged with committing two assaults or possibly two murders. Pro-lifers need to continue to fight for additional laws such as the "unborn victims laws" in those states which do not already have them.
We need to continue to fight for parental involvement laws regarding minors who are pregnant. Thousands of babies have already been saved after the passage of these laws. Pro-lifers must never give up even though they have experienced a great disappointment in this month's election.
Finally, pro-lifers must do everything possible to fight the legislation which the president-elect has promised will be his first legislation signed into law -- the Freedom of Choice Act -- which will wipe out all restrictions on abortions in America including the aforementioned unborn victims laws and parental involvement in abortion laws.

I have added a link to this post from Jeremiah Films' BlogWatch: Life I hope to continue to do so, while many things that should of been voted yes on in the election were not ... the door is open now to get the message out, education people, and comfort people. It needs to be a joint effort, as they would say in whoville all the little who's need to speak up.
