The onset of Obama's socialized paradise, Part Two

The overwhelming number of Democrats voted for -- or are about to vote for -- gargantuan spending bills which will amount to over two trillion, one hundred and fifty billion dollars, and that $1,150,000,000,000.00 is probably a conservative estimate. This total included the $700 billion for the Wall Street bailout last fall; 1 trillion dollars for Obama's stimulus bill; and the soon-to-be-passed Democrat FY09 Omnibus Appropriations bill (some 8 months late; it was supposed to be passed last summer.)

However, even worse are the socialist policies to be adopted in the new Omnibus Appropriations bill, as was the case in Obama's pork-filled non-stimulus bill passed before their George Washington Birthday holiday week vacation. Socialism involves taking money from hard-working productive people and spending it for objectionable programs such as those listed below.

The Democrats' Omnibus Appropriations bill includes a whopping increase of $88 million to $545 million per year for international family planning activities (read abortion.) The Democrats' bill also has an increase of $7 million to $307 million for Title X program (read abortion.) Indeed, abstinence education funding was cut by the Democrats to pander to their radically pro-abortion fringe groups to $95 million, a $13 million decrease.

The onset of Obama's socialized paradise, Part One

The dreamy looks on the faces of Barack Obama's fans during the presidential campaign looked eerily similar to German women about to faint for their Fuehrer. Americans with commonsense warned those voters on the fence before the election that the left-wingers' savior was about to turn America into a socialist state. In little more than a month into Obama's administration, he and his storm troopers in the Congress are far along in this aim.

After a majority of Democrats voted for the $700 billion bailout bill for Wall Street, and virtually all Democrats in Congress voted for Obama's 1 Trillion dollar (with interest) stimulus bill, these same Democrats, incredibly, are about to vote for another gargantuan spending bill called the FY09 Omnibus Appropriations bill. This $410 billion bill has to be passed next week because the do-nothing Democrat-controlled Congress last year found time to pass only 3 out of the 12 appropriations bills they were supposed to have passed last summer.

So, if you add 700 billion dollars to 1 trillion dollars (only 3 Republicans out of 219 Republicans voted for this pork-filled turkey); to $410 billion dollars, you come up with a grand total of $2,150,000,000,000; that is two trillion, one hundred and fifty billion dollars the Democrats are now foisting upon the American people.

No, Mr. Holder, America is not a nation of cowards

There must be something in the DNA of left-wing Democrats which cause them to disparage America and Americans. The latest evidence of this is the comment by Obama's attorney general, Eric Holder, that America is a "nation of cowards." Yesterday, Holder called the United States "a nation of cowards" when it comes to race.

He said: "Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards." The fact that Obama and Holder, both black, have been elevated to the highest and close to the highest offices in the land demolishes Holder's radical belief. In America's bloodiest war, the Civil War, hundreds of thousands of Americans courageously gave their lives and limbs to rid America of the blight of slavery.

Holder -- who played a role, as the number two official in Bill Clinton's Justice Department, in releasing a number of really true cowards, a group of Puerto Rican terrorists at the end of the Clinton administration -- revealed in his statements yesterday how truly radical the Obama administration will be in administering justice in America during the next four years.

Polygamist tries to use gay marriage laws as a defense

You knew this would eventually happen.  As soon as people start to play around with the definition of marriage itself, sooner or later someone would try and use that re-definition as a precedent to justify behavior that takes it even further.

The current example comes from Canada, which legalized gay marriage this past year.

The lawyer for one of two B.C. men accused of practising polygamy is planning to invoke Canada's gay marriage laws as part of his defence arguments.

Blair Suffredine, who's representing Bountiful resident Winston Blackmore, says they'll be making the argument that the Canadian definition of marriage, which includes same-sex couples, should then also include multiple partners. ...

The landmark cases against Blackmore, 52, and James Oler, 44, which will determine whether polygamy practised in the name of religion is legal in Canada, began Wednesday. ...

Blackmore, the spiritual leader to about 500 people in the community about 700 kilometres east of Vancouver, made it clear after his court appearance that he's not disputing that he is a polygamist.

Obama-Pelosi-Reid-Collins-Snowe-Specter bill downpayment on Obama's $8.4 trillion budget deficit

Deroy Murdock, a media fellow with Stanford University's Hoover Institution recently named the unnamed Senate/House compromise "stimulus" bill the Obama-Pelosi-Reid-Collins-Snowe-Specter bill. The former three names are the top three leaders of the Democrat Party. The latter three names are those of the Senate's liberal big-spending Republican Senators: Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe from Maine and Arlen Specter, up for reelection next year, from Pennsylvania.

Mr. Murdock quoted from a Heritage Foundation study which showed that adding the Obama-Pelosi-Reid-Collins-Snowe-Specter bill to a realistic budget baseline yields a projected 2010-2017 cumulative budget deficit of a gargantuan $8.4 trillion! This is 2.5 times the size of the irresponsible Bush 43 deficits over the equivalent eight-year time period. Brian Riedl from the Heritage Foundation wrote last Wednesday that "Obama pledged to fix what he considers Republican governing errors, not double down on them."

The American people, within a year or so, undoubtedly will find out that the pork-filled non-stimulus Obama-Pelosi-Reid-Collins-Snowe-Specter bill -- which Obama will sign into law on Tuesday -- will not work. The Japanese found out that after 10 years of churning out spending bills from their legislature to try to emerge from their recession, their economy remained flat.

Will Hillary run against Obama in 2012?

Dick Morris, the former senior advisor to Bill Clinton in his first term, has written a column entitled: "Hillary's Incredible Shrinking Cabinet Role." This raises the question of whether Hillary Clinton will resign after a couple years, or less, of extreme frustration after being shut-out during key foreign policy-making decisions by the Obama White House.

Here are just a few examples given by Dick Morris of Hillary Clinton's shrinking role as head of the Obama State Department: "Joe Biden has "moved vigorously to stake out foreign policy as his turf. His visit to Afghanistan, right before the inauguration, could not but send a signal to Hillary that he would conduct foreign policy in the new administration, leaving Hillary in the role of back-up.

"Richard Holbrooke, the former Balkan negotiator and U.N. ambassador, has been named special envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan. He insisted on direct access to the president, a privilege he was denied during much of the Clinton years.

"Former Sen. George Mitchell (D-Maine), negotiator of the Irish Peace Accords, was appointed to be the administration's point man on Arab-Israeli negotiations.

"Samantha Power, Obama's former campaign aide, who once called Hillary a 'monster,' has been appointed to the National Security Council (NSC) as director of 'multicultural affairs.'

Ireland passes heterosexuals only adoption bill

Every now and then you come across some good news in the ongoing culture war.  Today it comes from Ireland, and their new adoption bill that mandates that only married, heterosexual couples are elligible to adopt children.

DUBLIN, February 11, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Newly published adoption legislation introduced by Ireland's Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Barry Andrews, unequivocally states that all aspects of a child's adoption must "take place in the best interests of the child and with respect for his or her fundamental rights as recognized under international law."

In light of this the bill has no provisions for permitting adoption by same-sex couples or other cohabiting individuals, a fact that has homosexual activists up in arms, who are calling on Ireland to follow the example of Britain and Scotland in allowing homosexual adoption.  ...

Under the Bill, adopting parents must be married and living together, will have to show they are of good moral character, are healthy and have adequate financial means to support the child, before their adoption is approved. The couple must also show that they understand and support the child's needs in relation to ethnic, religious and cultural background.

By getting $30 million to protect a mouse, Nancy Pelosi is Pork Queen

San Francisco Democrat Nancy Pelosi got one of the most ridiculous pork project victories in the pathetic history of the modern United States Congress which is contained in Barack Obama's $1 trillion (with interest) "stimulus" bill. Most experts including Democrats, believe the Obama bill will actually cause a decrease to the gross domestic product (GDP) compared to if nothing had been done at all.

There is a pork project in the bill in the amount of $30 million to be spent in Nancy Pelosi's congressional district to save an "endangered" salt marsh harvest mouse, a project which puts her on par with the Pork King himself, the prolific and wasteful spender, John Murtha from Pennsylvania.

According to today's "The Washington Times," Republicans accused Democrats of reneging on a promise to keep pork projects (euphemistically called "ear-marks") which fund lawmakers' favorite projects out of the legislation. The spokesman for the Republican leader in the House of Representatives, Congressman John Boehner said: "One of the proudest boasts of Democrats supporting their trillion-dollar spending plan is that it doesn't contain earmarks. But it seems like powerful Democrats will still find a way to bring home the bacon." The spokesman added, "This certainly doesn't sound like it will create or save American jobs. So can Speaker Pelosi explain exactly how we will improve the American economy by helping the adorable little critter?"

Obama's Democrats now own 99.4% of American economy

Out of 535 members of the United States Congress, only 3 Republicans (all liberal Republicans) voted for Barack Obama's so-called "stimulus" bill, H.R. 1, the Democrats' number one bill for the 111th Congress and for Obama's presidency. That means Obama's Democrats now own 99.4% of the American economy and will be responsible for the expected decrease in America's gross domestic product and the continued unemployment. Even Democrat policy analysts predict this if Obama's stimulus bill becomes law.

Indeed, the stock market experienced a Great Crash today after the Democrats passed their pork-filled non-stimulus bill which will cost the American taxpayers way over $1 trillion (including interest.) The Dow Jones Industrial Average nearly dropped a whopping 400 points.

At Obama's press conference, the Associated Press reporter who asked the first question of the evening, actually asked a reasonably tough question asking whether or not Obama is talking down the economy with his Cassandra-like talk about catastrophes if Congress does not pass his bill. Obama, in his answer to her question, referred to Japan's "Lost Decade" and that America is in danger of duplicating that.

Will Rick Santorum challenge liberal Senator Specter next year?

The news tonight that liberal Republican Senator Arlen Specter will no doubt join the two women liberal Republican Senators from Maine in voting for Barrack Obama's gigantic "stimulus" bill within the next couple days will undoubtedly set up a primary challenge to Specter in next year's Pennsylvania primary.

A similar bill last week in the House of Representatives did not receive even one Republican vote, and it is hard to believe that the Senate/House compromise bill next week will receive even one Republican vote in the House. Barack Obama promised he would try to get 80 Senators to vote for a bipartisan bill.

Yet another Obama campaign promise down the drain. Obama will get 60 votes for his gargantuan bill; all Democrats except for the 3 liberal Republicans, one former Socialist and Independent Joe Lieberman. Even the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office predicts the Obama bill will negatively affect America's gross domestic product within a couple years. So much for providing 4 million new jobs.

Arlen Specter will have to defend -- in next year's primary -- his vote for the pork-filled, mostly non-stimulus bill costing the American taxpayers some $827 billion (plus interest, bringing the total costs to over $1 trillion) Specter, who has only an average of 25% rating in Christian Coalition of America's congressional scorecards, tried to reach out to conservatives during the final two years before his reelection campaign.
