The backlash against the Obama administration's policy requiring church-affiliated organizations to...
April 29, 1607 and Obama's 100th day
Ironically, while yesterday was Barack Obama's 100th day, what was far more significant yesterday was the 402nd anniversary of the first English settlers landing on the shores of Cape Henry, Virginia, planting a huge wood cross in the sand dunes, kneeling down in the sand, and dedicating America to Jesus Christ.
Although the Obama-adoring media has given their messiah more coverage than they gave to Bill Clinton and George W. Bush combined, you can believe that not one member of this establishment mentioned that important historical event. Indeed, the coverage they have given Obama during his first 100 days has been overwhelmingly positive, whereas the coverage they gave President Bush during his first 100 days -- indeed, during his 8 years -- was harshly negative.
Even more ironically -- considering the fact that those first settlers came to America to establish religious freedom -- those who believe in religious freedom lost to the Christian-bashing bullies in the United States House of Representatives yesterday, the 100th day of Obama's administration. The "Thought Crimes" bill, which liberals call the "Hate Crimes" bill, will go a long way to destroying religious freedom in America if Obama signs it into law, which he has promised to do.
As Christian Coalition of America (CCA) stated in its press release published yesterday, pastors have been thrown in jail because of similar laws in Sweden, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom, just because they have preached the Bible on homosexuality.
CCA's press release goes on to say: "The American people did not vote last November for the onslaught of such left-wing legislation in both the realm of social issues such as abortion and special rights for homosexuals/transgenders and in the realm of economics. The American people need to rise up and let their voice be heard. The hundreds of thousands of Americans who demonstrated in the April 15th tea parties was a good beginning. It needs to continue."
Christians in America need to fight back if they are to maintain any kind of religious freedom in America and one good way to begin would be at the ballot box next November. There are encouraging signs that Christians will indeed do that. Today, the "Politico" newspaper on Capitol Hill reported that the head of the Democrat campaign committee in the House of Representatives is worried about losing seats in those districts Democrats now hold, but which President Bush won twice and Senator John McCain won last year.
There are some 40 of those Democrats, many of whom voted for the anti-Christian "Thought Crimes" bill yesterday. It would behoove their Republican opponents to make this a major issue in next year's elections: the gutting of religious freedom in America by the Democrats in the United States Congress.
