God in America: His Future in Doubt

Our United States of America has been highly distinguished around the world as a Christian Nation. A nation known for offering freedom and opportunity to all people from all parts of the world regardless of race, color, or creed. People who came to America to experience for themselves the "land of the free." Only in America do we truly experience our proclamation of freedom. "We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness". In addition, the Statue of Liberty has the famous inscription, which reads, "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free, the wretched refuse of tempest tossed to me. I lift my lamp beside the golden door." Yes, America has a long legacy of compassion and charity throughout the world. It is America, the light of the world, that is first to sacrifice, even the lives of our service men, to assist the needy and protect the oppressed around the world.

Easter reminds us of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us.  What have you done for Him?  I resigned from my position as a chaplain for Hospice by the Sea when the CEO tried to become politically correct, by banning God from staff meetings, organizational events, and even the company’s chapel.  Prayers with God and Jesus are ok, but only in the homes or the nursing home rooms of the believer.
