Christian Coalition Supporters Are Urged to Defend the Defense of Marriage Act

Last week, the Senate Judiciary Committee passed the so-called, Orwellian-named “Respect for Marriage Act”, S.598, out of committee by a party-line, 10-8 margin.

This bill would abolish the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and would force the recognition of gay marriages throughout America in all 50 states.

The Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was overwhelmingly passed in 1996, by a whopping margin of 85-14 in the United States Senate and by an equally overwhelming margin in the United States House of Representatives by a margin of 342-67.

All Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to defend the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) by voting NO on the so-called "Respect for Marriage Act of 2011" last week.  On the other hand, All 10 Democrat Senators on the Senate Judiciary Committee voted for the so-called "Respect for Marriage Act of 2011" which will eliminate DOMA. read more »

Speak out for prayer!

On September 11th, a public event will be held in New York City in commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the dreadful terror attacks of 2001.  And God is not welcome.

Specifically, New York Mayor Bloomberg is refusing to allow members of the clergy to play a role in the upcoming public memorial service – or to allow any references to faith and prayer.

As you know, faith was the spiritual backbone that carried us through.  In the days just after the attacks our public officials were happy to publicly seek God’s protection at a high-profile inter-faith service at Yankee Stadium.

Say yes to "Cut, Cap & Balance"!

Dear Friend,

The US House of Representatives will vote sometime Tuesday on what is known as the “Cut, Cap and Balance Act” (HR 2560) – a bill that would mandate cuts in the federal budget, a cap on federal spending, and congressional passage of a balanced budget amendment to the US Constitution before any extension of our national debt limit.

In addition, the US Senate will take up the same issue (S.1340) soon.

Members of Congress need to hear from you.  The need to know that conservatives demand that there be no extensions of our national debt without REAL reform.  They need to know that we oppose continuing to push the financial burden off on our children and grandchildren.

Will you stand with Israel?

Last week President Obama put our country in a position of undermining the peace and security of the nation of Israel.

As Christians, we cannot allow this to happen.

In a major foreign policy speech, Barack Obama called for Israel to return to its former borders prior to the 1967 “Six Day War” with Egypt, Syria and Jordan.  In some places, those borders leave Israel less than nine miles wide.

As a result of that war – and in order to better defend itself – Israel expanded and has since defended those borders.  Now Barack Obama calls for the Jewish people to unilaterally give up that land and place themselves at risk again. read more »

Several weeks ago the US House of Representatives approved a budget amendment that would stop the flow of taxpayer dollars to Planned Parenthood by a vote of 240 to 185.

Critical Senate Vote This Thursday!

This coming Thursday the US Senate will hold a vote on whether or not to DE-FUND PLANNED PARENTHOOD.

It is vital that your Senators hear from you before this critical vote.

Previously, the US House of Representatives approved a budget amendment that would stop the flow of taxpayer dollars to Planned Parenthood by a vote of 240 to 185.

But now it comes down to the Senate.

In order to become law, this amendment must be approved by the Senate and we must be able to overcome opposition from President Obama.

Keep up the pressure to repeal!

Dear Friend,

Last week the US House of Representatives voted to repeal ObamaCare by a vote of 245 to 189.

That’s a difference of fifty-six votes – compared to the seven vote margin that the bill passed by last year!

But the job is not finished.  Now we have to get it passed in the Senate!

This week conservative senators introduced their version of the repeal bill this week with forty-seven co-sponsors.  But Harry Reid has promised that he will not allow a Senate vote on the issue.
