  • On Friday afternoon, the United States House of Representatives came about 30 votes short of the 2/3 majority needed to pass a Balanced Budget Amendment to the United States Constitution.  Unfortunately, the final vote was 261 ayes and 165 nays.  Voting aye were 236 Republicans and 25 Democrats.  Voting nay were 4 Republicans and 161 Democrats.
